Aston Villa won the European Cup in 1982 and finished 11th in the league :o

What happened to England Rugby 2003 Union World Cup and now? How is it a national team doesn't retain it's players? Or what happened?

Didn't Real Madrid finish fifth when they won the champions league one year? Kind of ironic that they call it the champions league

Agreed.

It started out as a strict champions' league and was better then than now...but we all know what makes the world go round.

Nowadays it's too much like the World Cup. Doesn't really get going until you get into the knockout stages.
