WarpSpeed Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Fortunately the other driver was not seriously injured over the drunks thoughtless irresponsibility this time, usually it doesn't work out that way... No sympathy on my part except for any family he might have who loved him..

No sympathy on my part except for any family he might have who loved him.. Rather scant evidence if all we have is the testimony of the rider who caused the collision reporting that he observed the other rider weaving across lanes and so, he decided to attempt to overtake him and in doing so, killed the other rider. It would be interesting to find out whether the blood test results support the beliefs of the man who caused the collision while overtaking the deceased.
WarpSpeed Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I commented on the story in it's context.... No other defense necessary nor required...
SeanMoran Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I commented on the story in it's context.... No other defense necessary nor required... Did you read the full story and find any evidence beyond the testimony of the survivor who caused the collision that the deceased was drunk? Please explain how you came to that conclusion, for all I read in the story was that the survivor who caused the collision reported that the dead man was riding erratically across lanes. I wonder what made him decide to try to pass him and then run into him, killing him.

I used to be an accident investigator before getting a better paid job and, in a proper accident investigation both parties would be treated as suspects until 3rd party witnesses or other concrete evidence can be established which gives us the real truth. A reasonable person would certainly think twice before overtaking someone who he has just observed swerving violently - certainly I would be more inclined to hang back than to overtake. I sincerely wish that police here would start enforcing the helmet laws, but it seems like we all hope and pray in vain.
