It is very close to the rally area, but no reports of serious incidents so far. All seems peaceful.

I was there from 4.30 to 6.00 pm. Looked normal to me! People enjoying a drink or 2 and some good Thai food. BUT! getting out was a different ball game.

Keep away from the main drag and all is good.
