Russian Musician Commits Suicide

Russian musician commits suicide behind a school store room in Central Pattaya.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Prateep from Pattaya Police Station was called to a school in Soi Arunothai after Khun Nookee the school janitor reported the discovery of a corpse of a foreign man who had apparently hung himself behind the school stock room. The man, believed to be a Russian Musician who had previously worked at Tony’s Disco on Walking Street was not carrying any forms of ID but was identified by on-lookers who had seen him at the nearby Niran Grand Condo. Police questioned residents at the Condo block who mentioned how the man was depressed because he had lost his job at Tony’s and had run out of money. Police are continuing their investigation and as yet cannot be sure if this was indeed a suicide or murder

This was Al, who used to play bass in Tony's band.

While it comes as a shock to us all, it was known by some of us that Al had some family problems, both back in Russia and here in Thailand, where his wife had a new baby on the way.

Al was a talented musician and a true friend and will be missed by all of us.

I knew Al also. He used to work for The Blues Factory.

It has to be said though, as i was told on the phone last night by someone who called me in the UK to tell me about this "he had a thai girlfriend and a baby" So why did he take the easy way out, I'm very sorry about what happened but why leave them like that.
