I've been looking high and low for a replacement for my earthenware bread crock - whose lid I dropped and broke. Couldn't find one in Chaingmai. I tried a wood container with a lid (sold in Index) which is apparently meant for rice. It doesn't really work, ie keep the bread from going stale too quickly - as well as the usual earthenware or tin ones do.

Has anyone seen a bread bin being sold anywhere in Bangkok?

I have always kept bread in the refrigerator here. If you want to use for sandwiches, it only takes a few minutes to recover back to room temperature.

The thinking seems to be that in Thailand it's best to keep bread in the fridge.

I'm not sure why Musongman thinks a bread crock/bin is unsuitable in Thailand.

I buy unsliced sour dough loaf (or something similar) not the typical white sliced loaf; and I don't want it to lose its moisture in the fridge. Maybe I'll try keeping it in the fridge but wrapped in a plastic bag. Though I'll probably still look for a bread bin in Bkk next time I'm there.
