I arrived in Thailand on the 21st of March and been a uk passport holder I got a 30 day visa. Now my flight out of Thailand is on the 20 April does that make my stay in Thailand 31 days or 30? I asked at immigration whilst getting my stamp and she said as long as I flew in the morning (which my flight does 9.30am) I will be ok and worst thing to happen is I'll have to pay 500 B Although she said I near enough certain I wouldn't have to.

Does this sound correct I only ask as there was obviuosly a langauge barrier and she of misunderstood me. I really don't want to go doa visa run just for one day unless I have to.

Also does anyone have the address for or telephone number for the Immigration in bangkok? As I got told its moved fromthe address in my rough guide.

my thanks in advance for any help arelly is appriocated :)

She is correct your last day in Thailand is the 20th, which gives you 30 days, the day you entered being the first day. So you can leave before midnight on the 20th without penalty as far as I know.

Your stay will be 31 days which means you will have 1 day overstay. If leaving from Bangkok Airport you will not be fined for 1 day but may get an overstay stamp in your passport.

The stamp in your passport tells you which day you will have to leave. It is before midnight that day.

When you fly out with only 1 day overstay you won't have to pay a fine.

There is a charge for any overstay - 500 baht per day - but for an airport departure with less than 2 days overstay it will be be collected.

Superb so basically i'm ok to stay that extra day as long as I don't get in trouble with the police correct?

also if I did get a overstay on stamped on my passport would they be any reprecussions getting into any other other country or thailand in future?

If I have to do a visa run I don't mind its just if there is no real reason i'd prefer not to.

Many thanks for the prompt replies really appricated
