Hi, do you usually book both ways? I have my dates set.

You catch the bus/train in BKK where you got off right? Is it near the OnNut area?

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

You can book one way or return, but the nearer it gets to Songkran the harder it is to get sleeping berths from Bangkok to Chiangmai. The train leaves from Hualampong Station, timetable below.

Yes, you should book in advance. Often the train is fully booked.

There are at least 2 bus stations in Bangkok so check where you will be closer to. You can catch the train at Hua Lam Pong main train station.

Hi, neither the bus nor train stations are near On Nut. Morchit, the main bus station for buses going north is near the Phahon Yothin Metro station. The main railway station is Hua Lamphong and can be reached by the Metro.

You can book return tickets direct at the train/bus station or get a travel agent in Bangkok to do it for a few baht extra.
