Breaking News!!!

Chiang Mai Municipalities spokesman Samooweng Damooweng announced this morning that his teams control of the latest mosquito outbreak was a great success:

'yet again we have shown Thai initiative, as we do annually, by setting fires around the mountains to combate the mosquitos - you will see (through our intentional smoke) the results of our efforts around our beautiful city - the smoke has killed them!

and we now have a new slogan for Chiang Mai - 'Ablazing Thailand' - I know that our efforts will be appreciated' cough, cough

That was the end of the announcement...

'Ablazing Thailand' love it

*cough* :)

Nice try Donny, but it still fails the implausibility test. Still waiting for something that I

wouldn't believe as possible on April 2nd. :)

The spokeman could perhaps have been slightly more aggressive, as it is often said "There's no smoke without ire". :)

In a follow up statement, Khun Samooweng announced that the fires would continue for the time beng as it would further the interests of medical tourism "Now you don't even have to be ill before you get here" crowed K. Samooweng enthusiastically. "We even provide the means of getting sick - in the last month demand for respiratory care has risen by 25%, which is good news for the Chiang Mai economy. The setting of fires would continue until April 11th, he continued, after which the Songkran motor-cycle accidents would mean that the hospitals do not need the extra business.
