Hi I have to neutered male cats that get along ok with each other. Male #2 grew bigger then then Male #1 and has become the Alpha male cat but their fighting is limited and they also groom each other.

2 months ago a 2 month - 3 month old kitten came up to me when I was calling my cats and so I took her up to my house and fed her and she never left.

Male #1 has stopped being very aggressive with her and gives her the occasional whack. Male #2 has become a monster, (and we have accordingly changed his name to that MONSTER) and is quote ferocious with her.

Stalks her and attacks her and with hair fully puffed out and nails out........... when he watchers her he looks obsessed.

he has never been one for my affections and will sleep on the bed but always at the feet, never jumping on my lap etc. ( I brush him and pet him and he is not ferral.

I am really worried he will seriously injure female #3 (who now sleeps right next to me at night :) unlike the other two). I usually stop the fighting because it is so bad, although having said that there are some scratches but not any deep bites, yet.

Any advise? I tired whispering to my cat but that has failed.

How to get him to accept her? I thought this would end in a few weeks.

It is normal for you to introduce a new cat to the house in a controlled manner.

When we got our female kitten similar behaviour was encountered. Can you tell if your male cats are neutered yet! If not they should be immediately.

The sort of behaviour you are describing is normal for an older male cat/s! They are protecting their turf and will in a violent manner. Our kitten was given our bedroom for one month with food tray and litter, and was only allowed out with our older neutered male cat in the presence of my wife or I. After a while the aggression was replaced with I can play with the new cat and then it is OK to leave them alone.

The males will kill the kitten, if you do not act now!

I live in the jungle and the cats are neutered so they are mainly out doors. I came home from a long day at work, the kitten is actually not so small.. (2-3 months), a the kitten was crying. Followed me from my bike up 50 stairs on the hill to my house. There was no time for proper introductions. My fault I know.

I didn't think it would be such an issue because Male #1 was quick to tolerate Male #2.

Perhaps they didn't fix him right because I do see him marking his territory lately and spraying here and there which I thought didn't happen once they had the surgery.

He does not seem to bite her but does scratch her. Or perhaps she gets away.

So what to do?

They eat in the same room but not next to each other and that is fine... so it is not every second. but He is obsessed with her.

Believe there is no solution to your problem, once a cat gets to hate another cat there is no turning back, in my experience they do not change their minds.

We have ten cats, one an Oriental White neutered male called Snowball absolutely HATES one small female tabby by the name of HomeMart, no reason no logic but he has tried to kill her on several occasions. There is nothing we can do, nothing we can say except to keep them separate. The other nine cats he tolerates but this one just gets up his nose big time. It was not always like that, when she was a kitten they slept together.

A big proper Tom just joined our 'cats hotel' the ladies all love him but the guys all want to kill him, one day next week we'll go get him done then doubtless everyone will hate him them. That's Cats!!

We get a lot of kittens dumped on us. Our Alpha female fortunately is a brilliant foster mum. The other cats all look at her as though she's lost the plot, but eventually come round. Population control is done by snakes, cobra country.
