I will probably go for a Marriage visa when my current visa runs out

I know what we have to provide re myself and my wife

However I understand that my wife will have to complete a form in Thai and maybe be interviewd

Interested if anybody can give ideas of what she has to complete on the form and what questions she may be asked

I remember there was a list of questions that we were both asked separately.

There were about twenty or so questions on the list but they only asked around eight, which they chose at random. It was all basic stuff about when/where you met, family members, where you live, type of house etc.

There were also a couple of more probing questions available to them, like, where did you sleep last night, When did you last have sex. But the woman officer wasn't brave enough to ask me. Shame.

Thanks for the quick replies

All sounds pretty easy

I have heard many people comment that a Marrage visa is a lot more difficult than Retirement but it just sounds like a few more copies basically

It really is quite simple. Just a friendly chat.

BTW it is not a Visa. It is an extension of stay.

You will get a 30 day under consideration stamp.

Go back in a month to get the remainder.

Regarding terminology, it is actually an extension of stay based on marriage you will be applying for (is not a visa). There is more paperwork involved than applying for an extension of stay based on retirement, and it takes more time to issue whilst immigration checks out the marriage is genuine. You should get a 30 day under consideration stamp on the day of application and a date to go back and get the remainder of your extension. Remember if you plan to travel abroad during the period of the extension you will need to obtain a re-entry permit from immigration to keep your permission to stay alive. Fee 1,000 baht single entry; 3,800 baht multi entry.
