Cat Cdma Vs. True 3g

Featured Replies

Got internet tethering to work on my iPhone, so I thought I'd compare CAT CDMA with True 3G.

CAT: CCU-680

True: Tethered iPhone 3GS

Location: Ko Samui at Big C

Results: International is a draw, CAT CDMA wins on domestic. I did get 1.5Mbps to BKK on True yesterday though so I think True is very much dependent on reception. Still CAT CDMA is a bit better.

The international values, BTW, are better than some DSL lines promising much higher speeds. In particular, neither CAT or True limit YouTube, whereas most DSL providers do on the cheap lines.

Hey nikster,

I have been looking at the True website, and it looks to me their 3G is only available via Wi-Fi ?

Could you point to some more info on this service, or should I call *9000?

Thanks
