Just heard Channel 9 saying that the reds from Phan Fa were regrouping at Khao San as they reckon the troops won't go in there for fear of tourists getting caught up.

So for today, the non-violent reds:

- reds clubbing and spearing troops defending the gates at 1st Army HQ

- Jatuporn proposing to take BTS and derail the trains

- using tourist human shields in Khao San road to protect themselves.

Then those must be the real Reds.

Getting very rough at the gate at 1st Army HQ. Reds now pressing the troops and attacking them by shoving pointed spears at them. Troops protecting themselves with riot shields are holding and showing incredible restraint. Live video on channel 9 now.

Also saw Jatuporn (non-violence red) making an announcement from the stage about 30 minutes ago that they will take BTS and derail the trains if a move is made. Apparently, BTS is now shut because of his threat.

They were already insurgents by a proper definition.

Derailing trains filled with civilians? Even publicly threatening that? I am sorry. That is terrorism. Look up the definition. The red leaders have morphed into terrorists. Those naive people who ever believed this was a non-violent movement, it is time now to publicly admit your error in judgment. Are you men and women enough? I doubt it.

Bear in mind this was Jatuporn saying this. I saw it myself on the UDD TV site...he said it. And his is a key leader and a would-be PM if they succeed.

I take no sides in the political argument here. But these people are showing their true colours now that they are getting backed against the wall. Threatening to derail skytrain carriages with people in them? That is terrorism, plain and simple.

Ummm again in Parliamentary democracies governments can change without a new election. Small parties can realign and poof --- a new government. To suggest otherwise is simply a lie.

You used a plural, suggesting that changes of government without electoral approval are regular occurrences in democracies. Do you have any more examples of this than the one in Thailand in 2008?

Indeed, and these reds look like rough characters. I'm feeling sorry for the army troops there...they are not returning any blows and just holding steady with their shields, enduring blows to their heads with clubs, deflecting pointed spears and trying to keep the reds from breaking in at the gate.

Yep, now watching on TV- MCOT I believe. Reds throwing bottles, rocks, bricks, anything they can get hands on over the fence. Looks like Songkran '09 redux.

Yes, I would like to see the international media now take note that the red shirt movement is led by terrorists. For a while, the naive fools were buying the propaganda that this was a non-violent, pro-democracy, movement. It is time for the world leaders to take sides now, for the reasoned civilized government (which WAS elected legally and has scheduled future elections, just not on the forced timetable of the terrorists), and against red shirt terrorists fueled by radical Maoists.

Abhisit needs to flush himself and his cabinet members who occupied the airport down the toilet. Everything will return to normal if Abhisit's ego lets him resign gracefully. His stubborness helps no one.

Just shows that he's not at all interested with the concerns that the poor people of Thailand have. He tries to sweep the problem away with water cannons, instead of solving the problem. You can clean up the water of the running toilet as long as you want, but unless you fix the toilet, the water will keep coming back.

These posters are on record now. Rationalizing threats to murder innocent civilians on trains. Face reality. That is what is going on. How can you not see that? Thousands of tourists being held hostage in their hotel rooms should play well in the international media.

Question? What signs do you all see out there of troops in the vicinity of the Rajaprasong site. I live on Soi Rangnam. There are about 100 police, 50 troops and a truckload of anti-riot gear at Century Mall by the Victory Monument BTS stop.
