The military/judiciary appointed government decided to end the peaceful demonstration - and make it into a violent one. The result is not unexpected. The consequences will give the Abhisit government a similar credibility to the Chinese after Tianamen.

HUH? The reds were told to leave under a lawful order --- the troops didn't march in.

The reds were told 8 more times --- the troops didn't march in.

The reds attacked various places ending with Thaicom yesterday ---- the troops didn't march in.

The reds attacked 1st Regiment --- they were repelled and troops were deployed.

The reds use lethal force and the troops reply with lethal force.

and you want to blame someone but the reds?

The reds have been demonstrating peacefully for a few weeks now (as were the Tianamen demonstrators) with no serious violence. The reds didn't posses "lethal force". The army did and used them. The army was instructed to attack Thai citizens acting peacefully. It is a disgrace and unacceptable in even a third world country.

the reds intention all along was to promote a violent response but it would be on their terms

the fugitive Arisaman drew first blood at the EC commission, but he was not denounced by the red protesters or their leaders

they thought it was great fun and a victory for them

Arisaman did it again the very next day by entering parliament

he was mildly rebuked by the red shirt leaders but they did not feel inclined to turn him in or make him turn himself in, which would have been a real media coup for the reds

the red supporters thought it was a great victory for the cause and cheered him on

now the government has clamped down on them, its not going to plan and its no longer on their terms, they are displaying their most common characteristic of being lying, whinging, cowards who do not find it so funny when the intimidation they have thrust upon on others is turned around and aimed back at them.

a most typical reaction from bullies

its very simple now , under SOE, the Reds are breaking the law simply by being there and can be removed at any cost

showing tear gas cannisters, spent bullet casings, displaying dead protesters and publicly crying and whining on about how badly the poor down trodden protesters have been dealt with by Abhisit, Suthep, the Police & Army does not cut any ice with me i am afraid

the reds knew what they were coming to Bangkok to do and they knew the risks involved

they have been coached in violence by their leaders 24 hours a day for weeks if not months

so it should not be a surprise to them that they have achieved their goal and finally got their way

they wanted a violent confrontation and now they have it

som nom naa

so reds, if they do not like whats happening to you then pack up and go home but please stop moaning about it like you were innocent lambs to the slaughter, if you fly with crows like Jutaporn and Arisaman, its likely you will get shot with them

or

get up off your collective knees, stand up and deal with whats happening to you, earn your 500 baht and get stuck in.

at least have the conviction to the Red cause to show the world what kind of people you really are

I don't see anything on BP about dead soldiers?

Hospital official says at least five killed in clashes between protesters and security forces in the Thai capital, including a Japanese journalist.

Pichaya Nakwatchara, the director of BMA General Hospital, said the journalist worked for the Thomson Reuters news agency. The hospital said the other four fatalities were protesters.

that is the last update????

By the way, the reporter's name is Hiroyuki Muramoto. It was spelled wrong in the local report.

Condolences to his family.

Thankyou may he

R.I.P.

May all the dead Rest In Peace.

And may wiser minds act to tamp down this madness.

Not the same protest that the rest of us are watching. Maybe he's watching RedTV and nothing else?

The "Reds" are parading bodies live on stage right now, pnustedt. Don't you think that's slightly indicative of their intentions?

Are you suggesting that the "Reds" were looking for their comrades to be killed? If so your logic is most bizaare.

Please check the forum rules before posting links to newspapers. One post was deleted for this, unfortunately it was rather informative.

Thanks.

I don't want to be banned or anything BUT

Surely at times like these when we all need information you could give a bit of slack. Especially as you said the post was informative. Maybe you can't. Just a question.

Agree completely.

It's just sad. This government of criminals and it's puppet masters needs to go.

Is your head really so far up your ar5e ?

Molotov cocktails, live rounds, all sorts of arsenal launched by 'the reds'.

You are myopic in the extreme, sir.

Molotov cocktail , live rounds , grenades (?) , RPG (?) by reds . Soldiers KIA = 0

Tear gas , rubber bullet , and water cannon by soldiers . Reds Kia = 4 + one journalist

No comments , but who is myopic ?

I'm suggesting it's clearly being paraded to incite anger, and why is that? What else do you think this ritual is about?

Actually ... Yes i am suggesting that the people that declared WAR (their words!) knew that reds would die. They need (repeat NEED) blood on the streets to have any chance of "winning". Yes that is sick! it is also true!

Not bizarre at all.

The reds have been trying to draw the authorities out for weeks - just read some of the 1,000's of posts.

It is the Reds using live bullets.

4 red shirts dead.

There is film of Thai Army using live weapons.

Not a single Army causality...

How do you explain your logic?

How would you know blanks or rubber bullets from live ammo from watching a video? You're a firearms expert?

Cheers

Of course they are angry and they wish to vent their anger. This ritual is about the people of Thailand wanting to appoint their own government and not have one appointed for them.

Actually I think this is what the red leadership have been looking for.

Exploiting their followers for what they felt was the greater good. To Thaksin i think these guys were cannon fodder.

I still think the general red shirt is a good honest person. Their leaders , you make your own judgment.

Nobody (besides JingThing) really wants to see the Thai military (with its history) back of the street killing people.

How dare you say that? I have NEVER said such a thing EVER and I never would. You have crossed a line there, mate, just like the red insurgent terrorists. I ask that you apologize for telling a lie like that. I doubt you will, but a false statement like that at least needed to be called out for what it is.

That's what I'm saying. I think it was a specific goal of the Red Shirt leadership to have some of its supporters get killed. I think they would have been happier if it was woman or a child, but I'm sure they're well pleased with the results so far.
