Thai Government Hangs By A Thread

I'm suggesting it's clearly being paraded to incite anger, and why is that? What else do you think this ritual is about?

Of course they are angry and they wish to vent their anger. This ritual is about the people of Thailand wanting to appoint their own government and not have one appointed for them.

You'll be saying all the red shirts involved in today's clashes are "fake" red shirts next...

The military/judiciary appointed government decided to end the peaceful demonstration - and make it into a violent one. The result is not unexpected. The consequences will give the Abhisit government a similar credibility to the Chinese after Tianamen.

the reds drew first blood

the reds intention all along was to promote a violent response but it would be on their terms

the fugitive Arisaman drew first blood at the EC commission, but he was not denounced by the red protesters or their leaders

they thought it was great fun and a victory for them

Arisaman did it again the very next day by entering parliament

he was mildly rebuked by the red shirt leaders but they did not feel inclined to turn him in or make him turn himself in, which would have been a real media coup for the reds

the red supporters thought it was a great victory for the cause and cheered him on

now the government has clamped down on them, its not going to plan and its no longer on their terms, they are displaying their most common characteristic of being lying, whinging, cowards who do not find it so funny when the intimidation they have thrust upon on others is turned around and aimed back at them.

a most typical reaction from bullies

its very simple now , under SOE, the Reds are breaking the law simply by being there and can be removed at any cost

showing tear gas cannisters, spent bullet casings, displaying injured protesters and publicly crying and whining on about how badly the poor down trodden protesters have been dealt with by Abhisit, the Police & Army does not cut any ice with me i am afraid

the reds knew what they were coming to Bangkok to do and they knew the risks involved

they have been coached in violence by their leaders 24 hours a day for weeks if not months

so it should not be a surprise to them that they have achieved their goal and finally got their way

they wanted a violent confrontation and now they have it

so reds, if they do not like whats happening to you then pack up and go home but please stop moaning about it like you were innocent lambs to the slaughter, if you fly with crows like Jutaporn and Arisaman, its likely you will get shot with them

or

get up off your collective knees, stand up and deal with whats happening to you, earn your 500 baht and get stuck in.

at least have the conviction to the Red cause to show the world what you really are

If the Reds wanted to promote a violent response they would not be returning weapons and live ammo...

The "Reds" are parading bodies live on stage right now, pnustedt. Don't you think that's slightly indicative of their intentions?

Are you suggesting that the "Reds" were looking for their comrades to be killed? If so your logic is most bizaare.

Jaruporn said on stage they were willing to die. He and the rest of the Red leaders sent these people to their deaths.

And then there was this gem, just this morning "Veera Musigapong, a red-shirt leader, told the protesters at the Phan Fah Bridge Saturday morning that he may lead them to rally at the head office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

He said the protesters might have to use violent mean like setting fire to the office because the NACC has been using double standard law enforcement.

Veera said the red-shirt movement might have to use violent means to establish a new Thai state."

"new Thai state" - do you know what that means?

the blood is, sadly,on their hands.

I presume Abhisit is preparing his resignation and the army are garnering themselves for a coup.

Realistically is there any other way out of this?

Nobody (besides JingThing) really wants to see the Thai military (with its history) back of the street killing people.

How dare you say that? I have NEVER said such a thing EVER and I never would. You have crossed a line there, mate, just like the red insurgent terrorists. I ask that you apologize for telling a lie like that. I doubt you will, but a false statement like that at least needed to be called out for what it is.

You were calling for the army to clear the protesters. they are now doing so with automatic weapons. just as they did every other time they were brought to the streets. i (falsely) assumed you realized that the army clearly the streets would mean people would be killed. so i do apologize if you did not make the connection or realize that this would be the result.

From Rueters

"He urged the protesters to do the same as they pelted soldiers with petrol bombs and M79 grenades. He said some protesters were armed with guns.

A red shirt leader later called on supporters to pull back to the main protest sites.

Khao San Road resembled a war zone, a Reuters photographer said. Shop windows were shattered. Cars were smashed. Many people lay wounded on the street. Police told reporters some protesters ignited cooking gas cylinders and rolled them into troops."

just for the benefit of the media and to keep up the impression of a peaceful rally

it was just a sham like the ''peaceful (''lets burn Bangkok-Arisman'') red rally '' was just a sham

Time to bring out the tanks indeed. :)

very sad day.

Lets hope the next elections aren't fudged. After these killings, without a fresh election its going to be terror tactics on either side i suspect.

7 minutes ago via mobile web -- Man in civilian clothes, badly beaten, brought before red leader Somchai. One man punches him, another kicks him.

edit:

They've established he's not a sniper, or a fake guard. His relief: palpable. (Real) red guards probably saved this man from a lynching.

That's what I'm saying. I think it was a specific goal of the Red Shirt leadership to have some of its supporters get killed. I think they would have been happier if it was woman or a child, but I'm sure they're well pleased with the results so far.

Happy to have women or children killed??? What a horrible thing to say, and based on no evidence of what the reds want. I could say the same thing about Abhisit: that he wants soldiers to get killed to arouse sympathy for his side - but I'm not that crude.

I don't really understand ur post but I don't think that I'll be saying that

clearly you have not been watching the same rally as the rest of us

every time something has not gone the reds way, core leader Arisman has claimed the protaganists to be ''fake reds''

meaning Govt people pretending to be reds to stir up trouble and make the reds look bad

its known as a false flag strategy

i think there was rather too many to day to be ''fake reds''

Abhisit did not cause this Thaksin did. Did you see the pic on UDD Facebook of the young girl with half her head missing. Shame on you for supporting this monster.
