After tonight Abhisit will be lucky to ba able to live in Thaialand let alone try running a goverment.

It' all over bar the shouting and the reds have won :)

You seem to be saying Abhisit's life is in danger, and think its funny. Pathetic.

can we have more details on where these casualties took place? i understand we have limited reports with the Army in the street murdering journalists but can we get an idea what is going on in each area right now?

where is abhisit now? too embarrassed to put his face on tv?

Abhisit did not cause this Thaksin did. Did you see the pic on UDD Facebook of the young girl with half her head missing. Shame on you for supporting this monster.

Rick

Both , Abhisit AND Thaksin are responsible

So how can that be. Thaksin pays money for people to fight for him and they die. It is blatantly his fault. I f he did not pay the money they would not be there.

Lot of unconfirmed rumors flying in Thai websites (according to my missus) about Thakin having cancer, and being in a Dubai hospital. Perhaps this might be a reason for the last stand mentality.
If that is true, it is even more disgusting. Kind of like someone with a terminal disease who gets on a tower with a machine gun, because he has nothing to lose.

And the illness the goverment is suffering from........fear that a peaceful demonstration maybe terminal......hence the machine gun stance?

Reports of soldiers shooting soldiers for not firing on protesters on Yahoo. What a mess!

Can find the link to that ?

Mutiny ?

More misinformation. We'll be waiting until thaksin comes back for that link

As with all the information we are hearing it may prove to be false or may never be proved at all, the military has ways of keeping these things secret. Don't let your preconceptions run wild!

You claimed that Yahoo had reports of soldiers shooting soldiers for not firing on protesters. You were asked for the link. Just admit it, you made it up.

Abhisit will still be PM in the morning. The Reds have disgraced themselves, their cause, Thailand and humanity. The Reds wouldn't get away with this for a day in the west... Abhisit, Bangkok and the rest of Thailand has been very patient in this matter. Now we have deaths. Well there is no one here that can argue that freedom can exist without bloodshed. As sad as it is, in retrospect it is often the way of progress.

I'm a bit sick over all this. I've seen way too much of it in my life.

Cheers

One wonder if the Red leadership is out collecting dead bodies of its followers so no proper forensic investigation can be carried out. Greater than even odds IMO they have done it to themselves as outlined in Thanong's scenario of a few days ago.

fnprop says:

"The red shirts are beyond Thaksin now. And the opponents are beyond the

Democrats and the PAD. Abhisit is still the useless, gutless pretty

face he always was. His raison d'etre is to lay a thin veneer of

legitimacy and a watercolor version of democracy on the real rulers.

Suthep's time as the deal-maker and troubleshooter are finished.

Gen.

Prayuch is calling the shots. Today's bloodbath was orchestrated by

him in order to protect his assumption to the throne of Chief Thief

(aka, head of the RTA) in September. Anupong is nothing more than he

ever has been: a caretaker army commander, with ties to Class 10,

playing both sides until he retires. With Prayuch, it's personal, he

got the go ahead from Prem, and now he's become the public face of the

government's attempts to restore order. And before the mods hop on

this, Privy Council members are NOT protected by the lese majeste law,

no matter how many generals try to preach that they are.

His

"firing in the air" tactic is a blatant violation of international norms

for crowd control. And it's downright idiocy from someone who should

be proficient in the use of weapons. My Daddy would have whupped his

ass, and taken the .22 from him until he learned how to use it

responsibly. He needs to face the same courts that crucified the police

officials in charge of the crackdown on the PAD in October 2008., and

even be stripped of his rank and retirement as they were.

So now

he has managed to start a civil war. Even if he succeeds in clearing

the streets in Bangkok, this will grow and fester in the North and

Northeast. Rather than face a single insurgency in the South, he's laid

the foundation for inciting another one in the Lanna and Isaan lands. A

Bangkok/Central Thailand, isolated from its labor and food sources,

with insurgencies and autonomy demands to its south, north, and

northeast, and a bellicose neighbor to its east will fall into the

dustbin of history, like Ayuthaya and Angkor before it.

At the

time, I was appalled by reports of the Khmer Rouge atrocities. If

something similar, like killing 2 million military officers, civil

servants, and businessmen happened in Thailand, I would only consider it

a good start."

i'll not even comment on drivel. let's just hear you your voice loud & clear again:

" If

something similar, like killing 2 million military officers, civil

servants, and businessmen happened in Thailand, I would only consider it

a good start."

just a guess, personally, you would not like to be... one of those killed, i guess?

Anyone heard the report of Newin Chidchob planning to go to England later tonight?

Does he know something we don't?

Well Thaksin won't be going there any more. In fact he won't be going many places after this. Today he has cut his own throat.

Cheers, Rick

Why does Thai TV continue just to show Dramas?

Like nothing is happening

Because all of the stations are owned by the government or the military, as if there is a difference. It is a sad fact that many westerners who claim to be educated rely on the government and military news reports.

I've been out for a few hours ... and I come back to this .... disaster.

The reds were supposed to keep this peaceful. Now look what the *&^% they've done.

The army have tried to avoid confrontation for weeks, but the reds couldn't help themselves.

I hope the protesting farmers are safe out there. This isn't their fault.

It's the thugs, probably taxi drivers and motor cycle taxis. They've been itching for a fight since this started.

How are soldiers being killed from this supposedly 'non-violent' protest?

It's disgraceful.

It is the Reds using live bullets.

4 red shirts dead.

There is film of Thai Army using live weapons.

Not a single Army causality...

How do you explain your logic?

Two dead soldiers. Over 60 wounded. One soldier impaled through the neck with a sharpened bamboo stick. Several protesters dead, one foreign reporter, and an unknown number of civilians. This is a tragedy.

What do you figure the odds are that following one month of near constant, peaceful demonstrations involving at times crowds of over 50,000 by all estimates, the reds may be rather keen to show that once violence has actually been visited on their people proof might be required to convince some people of that fact?

That could easily be done with a picture. Sorry but this is twisted. And if this is the extent of your conscience then God help you.

A couple of days ago they were playing a doctored tape that to falsely claim Abhisit ordered troops to fire last April. Why would it be beyond them to doctor photos or steal bodies from hospitals so autopsies cannot be done?

Weng is their Maoist leader, the top intellectual of the bunch. He's worse than Thaksin. How do the right wing American rednecks who have been supporting the reds for so long feel NOW about supporting terrorist Maoists? Even if they dump Thaksin or Thaksin fades, then what? Maoists? We all want Thailand to solve its problems, but this way, REALLY?
