Is The British Embassy In Bangkok Still Open

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am due to go to the british embassy in bangkok on the 24th May, i have to go to the consular section to have some official paperwork signed, does anyone know what the situation is around the embassy or even if the consular section is still operation.

Thanks for you help

Paul

It's still open and operating normally at present.

Given the fluid situation it could close at very short notice if it becomes unsafe, just look at their website or Thaivisa on the day or day before, but obviously things could change at a moments notice.

For the avoidance of doubt the OP was asking about the Consular Section at the British Embassy which remains open, but will no doubt be subject to numerous short term closures between now and the date he is concerned about. The Visa Section at the Embassy is still operating and will continue to process applications, but applications are subject to delay.

What is closed is the Visa Application Centre operated by VFS at Regent House, and it is this closure will give a number of people some concern.

The consular section is open as I was just there today. Its a good idea to check with them what time they close on the day you will go there though as they closed at 2.30pm today.
