This Job Blows

Featured Replies

I just received this email, we supervisors/superintendants etc are all on the 6/2 rotation, workers are nationals.

Please note that the 15th of June is a Public Holiday in Azerbaijan.

All National staff and Expat Residential staff are entitled to this day off.

Expat staff on 6/2 rotation are expected to be at work as usual.

Please note that there will be no power to the PMT (Project Management Team, edit) 1, 2, & 3 offices, canteen and containers/ porta cabins near the PMT offices on this day.

Sandwiches will be ordered for all staff present this day.

There will be no IT available and no AC.

Staff are expected to work as normal as possible during this day and we will depart site at 15.00 hrs.

Many thanks for your cooperation in advance.

So, there will be no physical work carried out onsite, no IT, no AC, not even any lights, safety systems etc etc

I guess I need to bring a good book.

Laughable :o

Mind boggles.... Making you go to work and do nothing, just because they are already paying... doesn't achieve anything really..

Could do with a PMT office where I work, being the only guy in the office can be a bit dangerous during certain times, especially with my sense of humour.... :o

totster :D

looks like you have explained the PMT office anyway

How I love being a "housewife" :o No traffic jams, walk into the home office wearing boxers and a 2 litre bottle of Pepsi and cigarettes in my hand. Lunch anytime I want. Change a lightbulb every now and then. Wash the dishes at 2 while listening to the daily news. :D

This sounds like bliss.

I was going to be a copycat and start another "My Job Blows" etc thread, but that won't matter now.

After 6 years, 1 month and 6 days on this job stuck in this island, I have finally had my contract terminated. Timing is absolutely crud - but I can see that the pressure release off my tired brain will be enormous.

Last date - July 13th.......

Now to find a job description like penzman's....

Have edited appropriately

A lot of rum I'd say... :o

Have a look at his posts from midnight last night to 1:24am this morning...

:D

So tuky, why not take the missus in to work as well?

Lot's of things you could do to while away the time... :D

:D

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

Your employer's illogical logic sound a lot like my old bosses, the U.S. Navy. Thank goodness I'm now with the same union that employs Penzman:

The Amalgamated Carefree Workers, Local 235. :o
