I'd like to hear about any problems people are having driving between Bangkok and Isaan (particularly Korat, since there are many different ways to go beyond there). My son is going to be transferred from Roi Et hospital to Bangkok on Friday, thus my interest.

I drove from Roi Et to Bangkok Tuesday afternoon. No problems except for that stretch next to Lamtakhong Dam lake. There, the Korat-bound lanes were closed for some reason and all the Korat-bound traffic was shunted to the Bangkok-bound lanes. There was a little slowdown from it going into Bangkok, but it looked like there was a significant wait heading the other direction.

Please write if you make the drive today (Thursday) and happen to notice anything unusual, like burning tires or rampaging reds/soldiers. Thank you.
