Chonburi police round up 40 illegals

CHONBURI: -- Marine police in Thailand's central province of Chonburi today rounded up 40 illegal immigrants in a sweeping crackdown on illegal immigration in ports throughout the province.

Thirteen were arrested in Sri Racha district, 17 on Koh Si Chang and 10 in Sattahib.

All were employed illegally as fishermen by local fisheries operations.

The immigrants, who were taken for police questioning after their arrest, now face deportation.
