hi everyone i have a thai daughter 8 years old from my thai girlfriend, the girlfriend is now working abroard,

the child only has a thai passport, and i am the legal father in thailand, i have to return to my own country (uk) on business and would like to take my child with me, i just wondered if anyone knows if i have to get ant sort of permission from the mother (who is unavalible) the take the child out as i dont want to buy a ticket and find that the child is refussed exit from thailand.

If you are the legal father, strictly speaking no evidence is needed, but occasionally people do get questioned. Also arriving at another country questions can be asked when going through immigration.

To proof you are the father you will need the child's birth certificate, usually that is enough for the Thai side (if you are named on it). Best thing to do is however have a short note from the mother with a signed copy of her ID-card giving you permission. Simple to do and might prevent trouble. Seems you can't do that. As said the birth certificate will be enough.

Don't forget the child will need a visa for the UK.

Evidence that you are the legal father would also be good, marriage certificate or bai rapp long bott or court papers proving that you are legal father. Best is, as Mario2008 writes, to have a short note from the mother with a signed copy of her ID-card giving you permission
