Bedlam is, by its very nature, unmoderated (for the most part.) This means that, in general, posting rules in operation elsewhere on the site are in abeyance here. Exceptions being subjects deemed to be illegal or concerning the Royal Family etc.

Bargirls are, therefore, permitted to be discussed as you will see if you look back over prevoius threads here.

The vast majority of posters in Bedlam have the right to post here because they have shown their maturity in their previous posting history on TV. In general those who would be likely to cause trouble here will have been banned before they have achieved the requisite number of posts to gain admittance.

Trying to respond to the original poster's first two posts in this thread:

The Blue States do appear to have a superiority complex. The average Texan knows about New York City, WashDC, Boston, Philly, and maybe even Baltimore or.....well, that's about it. How many New Yorkers know that San Antonio is far larger than Buffalo, or that the University of Houston faculty includes Nobel Prize winners and two-time Tony writers of Broadway shows?

The Blue State elites have, often and over a long time, assumed there was no intelligence between Baltimore and Los Angeles. You can't blame some of the Red States for saying, "We're here, we vote, and you lose another presidential election because you're ignorant and we know what you don't know."

You're right about the Blue States and their politics being elitist -- something that keeps losing them elections. The Red State politicians know how to talk issues that are of concern to everyone -- that's their appeal. Until the left (where I stand) learns to talk to people they have traditionally looked down upon, they will continue to lose elections.

As we've seen here in this and other quasi-political discussions, no one ever gets anywhere preaching to the choir.

Of all recent Democrats, Clinton came closest to having the required ability. Too bad his flesh was weaker than his will. And, too bad that mattered to so many Americans.

The bottom line is that we've ended up with political campaigns that are all about marketing and very little about real debate. Something not good for the country no matter what side you are on.
