Alright boys & girls,

I've got 5 full days next month in the City of Angels, i'm thinking about staying down Sukhumvit Rd Soi 4 at the Boss Suite. Just wondering what people think of this hotel if you've stayed there before?

But more importantly what would you lots do & where would you go to entertain yourselfs days & nights?

I like live music on an evening.

I'll probably go to the cinema 1 night.

I love seafood,so any recommendations?

Probably watch Man Utd in there bar, Soi 11 on the Saturday night.

Whats your favourite bars in that area?

What about a meal on an evening on the river?

Day trips?

Any info will be of great help, cheers for now :jap:

For live music try Bangkok Beat on Soi 7 Suk ( I think it's Soi 7). The music is good and it is close to your hotel.

If you don't mind spending a little more money, then for seafood I would suggest going to The Seafood Market & Restaurant on Soi 24 Suk. Been there twice and really enjoyed it. Just note that there is another seafood place on Soi 24 that you will pass before you get to the Seafood Market, you will know when you are at the right place as they have a big sign that reads "If it swims, we have it." PM me if you want their website or phone #.

Suda restaurant on Soi 14 is one of the few real Thai restaurants on Sukhumvit. Great food, cheap prices. It's next to Asoke sky train and about 15 meters down the Soi - cannot miss it. (Hoi Lai - baby clams in spicy sauce - yummm)

Real good Cinema at Emporium (soi 24?). Ask for a blanket - the air-con was cold.

Tourist stuff - everyone we entertained loved the 'boat around the klongs' (canals). Go to the Sky Train station at the end of the line near the Oriental Hotel (???Thaksin - cannot remeber the name of the station) Hire a long tailed boat and tell them that you want to see the Royal Barge Museum and Wat Arun. Make them let you get off at the Wat and do not do the snake farm. Then tootle around the smaller klongs. This is a cultural tour, but interesting (not sure how old you are)

Enjoy :-)

Hi Mr or Mrs Thrilled

Not booked my hotel yet, but definatly my other option for Bkk would be staying on the riverside but looking at something around the 2000 baht range. Probably would prefer a nice view & swimming pool. Am i dreaming?

Cheers for info :jap:

Bangkok Beat is in Sukhumwit soi 7/1 - 100 meters in on the right hand side.

You also have Bangkok Rocks in Suk soi 19 - 200 meters in on the left hand side.

I also like Titanium with the very good all girl band Unicorn - 100 meters in Suk soi 22 on the right hand side. :D

The Big Mango Rocks!

Had a great time there this week, 5 fun days & nights were had. The Boss Suite Hotel(soi4) was perfect for me. Nice rooms, large flat screen tv with dvd player. Good breakfast included in the 1500 baht price. Free tuk tuk to Nana station before 11pm was excellent as I used the sky train to get around most days.

Went to watch Muay Thai last Sunday afternoon at the Channel 7 stadium which I will do every time I’m in town as it was great entertainment.

NEP was quite I thought but I enjoyed doing a little people watching sat at Big Dogs, also went to Hillary’s Bar 2 a couple of times but I prefer Bangkok Beat now which another BM recommended for me, thanks!

Had plenty of nice meals while in town especially Japanese food.

Also did a trip along the Chap Praya River on the Express boat & checked out Wat Pao. Then went to Khao San & bought some cheap books. This little trip was on the advise from the Stickman. Cheers!!

So I’m sabai sabai at the moment. This trip was great even tho I’ve spent many a trip in the Big Mango before. But due to questions that I’ve asked on da forums or information I’ve read on the forums, trips to the city will be increased!! :jap:
