DavidOxon
Back in June I had a birthday and decided it would be a good opportunity to try La Terrace in Loi Croh? Rd . . .as a self promised treat. Sadly, it was closed for the week, so we had pre chosen a '2nd choice' venue of Chez Marco's, which was also closed! Blast! So, ended up having expensive Italian somewhere forgettable. Last night, being Bastille Day (night) thought we'd celebrate with a meal at La Terrace French Restaraunt only to find it again closed from Monday to Thursday this week. Guys, you're never going to make any money if you're closed all the flippin' time! Grrrr! So next week is the wife's birthday, so it'll be the Tamarind Hotel . . . just hope that it's open! I just hope the Muang Thong hotel is open.
Blinky Bill
Probably lose less money by staying closed with the current situation in Chiang Mai.
gotlost
You have places that only open for two hours at the most under the present conditions.
Rasseru
It's not very good when it's open, so I would not encourage anyone to struggle to get there.
nikster
There's a pretty good french restaurant hidden in the sois behind Icon Square. Just... FYI. Been there recently, very nice. Can't remember the name, sorry. But you go in that tiny soi after Icon Square (S&P at the corner), then left, then right, and there it is. Impossible location but great food. Never been there but I imagine it is Franco-Thai?
mcgriffith
Yeah, that would be Franco-Thai. Pretty decent bistro French food. Gourmands and nit-picking snobs-forget about it. Been going there for years....

If you have the name of the nearby main Soi it would help. Thanks.
WinnieTheKhwai
It's a computer center on Maneenopparat Road. (Nothern moat, outside) There's a small S&P outlet on the corner of that soi.

el jefe
It's a different type of restaurant, as McGriff says. Franco-Thai serves huge portions of good food using Thai ingredients. It's an excellent value if you want a big meal. Chez Marco and La Terrace serve smaller portions of better food at higher prices. It all depends on what you're looking for.
