So far in my research, I've heard that its pretty easy to find teaching jobs in Phuket although they don't pay well but have also heard that its becoming tougher and now schools want BA's specifically in education. I am a female native speaker with a BFA, PG Dip,an MA in digital media, and a TEFL certification. I have a little TEFL experience teaching Italian children and experience as a supply teacher in London. However I do not have experience in Thailand and I do not have an education degree. I would love to find a one year's contract teaching English to younger children (k-year6)in a school in Phuket starting in May 2011. Is this a lofty dream? Are long term contracts in schools for younger children hard to come by? Will I have more luck going through recruiting companies or are they just scams? Will my MA help me at all on the elementary level? Thanks for any advice or tips!

Female teachers, especially for KG level are a prized commodity. I don't think you will have much trouble.

Hello I was wondering if a Bachelor in Social Science, Associate Degree in Behavioural Science, and post grad in Case Management and another in Dispute Resolution and the TEOSOL or TEFL whatever it's called would stand me in good stead for teaching. Is the Cambridge Certificate of teaching the English language more accepted there as I do see in Australia it is about a grand more expensive.

thanks
