I often come across the word NGAWN งอน for v. to sulk.

tantrum - การแสดงอาการเกรี้ยวกราด gaan sà-daeng aa-gaan grîeow gràat (formal)

- เดือด dèuat (informal)

Ex; She threw a trantrum to her bf. เธอแสดงอาการเกรี้ยวกราดใส่แฟนของเธอ , เธอเดือดใส่แฟนเธอ

sulking - อารมณ์บูด , บูด , งอน aa-rom bòot , bòot , ngon

I think you can use "wife" for pretty much either one.

For example Person A upsets person B. Seeing that person B is upset, person A sulks (อารมณ์บูด , บูด , งอน) as if by being upset somehow person B is the instigator of the situation and not person A?

I don’t quite get your question much. I can’t see the phrase ‘ lose ones own face’ have anything to do with your example.

‘ lose ones own face’ – ขายขี้หน้า kăai kêe nâa, น่าขายหน้า nâa kăai nâa , เสียหน้าsĭa nâa , หน้าแตก nâa dtàek , เสียฟอร์ม sĭa fom,

For example;

ไปแข่งก็แพ้ ขายขี้หน้าเปล่า ๆ bpai kàeng gôr páe kăai kêe nâa bplào-bplào

มันน่าขายหน้าไหมล่ะ ไปตามตื้อเขา แล้วโดนเขาด่ากลับมา

man nâa kăai nâa măi lâ bpai dtaam dtêu kăo láew dohn kăo dàa glàp maa

Both sentences mean if you do something and it fails you must lose your face and feel embarrassed.

ถ้าไม่กลัวเสียหน้า (หน้าแตก, เสียฟอร์ม) ก็ลองไปจีบเธอดูสิ

tâa mâi glua sĭa nâa ( nâa dtàek , sĭa fom ) gôr long bpai jèep ter doo sì̀
