Hmm, was wondering if a colored copy of my main page, visa and last TM slip on one page would be certified (stamped) by the Immi guys down at Suan Plu.

Any thoughts?

I am hopeing we can get an answer on this. I have asked this question several times in USA and knowone seems to know. One answer was----you get the origional and that's it! What does a copy look like? The same just with copy stamped on it?

From within Thailand, if you want a certified copy of your passport from your embassy it will be a signed photocopy of the original with a red stamp that reads:

Kingdom of Thailand

Bangkok Metropolis

Embassy of the United States of America

The original document, of which this is a photocopy, appears to be genuine and unaltered and to have been made at the time purported. The photocopy consists of ...1... page

Signature ........... Wayne XXXXXXX

Date ..................

Title.................... Wayne XXXXXXX

Consular Associate of the United States

The Australian Embassy will also provide you with a Certified Copy of your Passport. Its done up in the Consular section where they will also sign Statuory Declarations etc.

Typically with the Australian Embassy, almost everything has a fee

Fee's ain't just levied by the Aussie Embassy. All Embassies have a dig in their nationals pocket.

I hope to be in the Parkway Inn Hotel on Sukhumvit next Saturday..for a couple of days...I will bring my stamp over to LOS with me and certify any copy of an Australian pp....Anyone interested.. post a thread. The service is free of course.

Think it costs about 700 baht in the consular section at Oz embassy.

I had to get stat dec. signed for a visa at immigration section, got the run around. Girl at window sends me to consular section, get there and woman says not our job to do this, I think here we go again but the woman seeing I was perturbed says "go back to immigration and tell them the signature is their responsibility, if I sign it you will have to pay" so I say "thanks that's the first time anyone here has ever helped me"

Go back to counter and tell her what was said she looks at me as if nothing was untoward, says nothing to me makes telephone call, farang woman comes down and signs dec.

Whole signature process took about 3/4 hour, why?
