Sugestions Before They Get The Hammer Out

I need a bit of an opinion on a medical problem, I broke my small finger in the first bone just after the first joint, first time they plastered it and it was starting to set at like 45 degrees, so they put a wire in as shown in the xrays.

Now I have about 10 degrees flexion in each joint (all 3), this has been about 3 months now, the xrays taken today and pictures show you whats going on clearly enough where there is deformity in the first bone.

Just seeking advice on what they can do before the hammer comes out to break it again.

I regret to say that I think they will indeed need to reset it for which they may indeed need to first break it. But I am not an othopedic specialist. And given what has happened I have some doubts re the expertise of the one(s) who have treated you to date.

I strongly recommend you see a top notch hand specialist. I can highly recommend Dr. Panupan who is a senior faculty member at Siriraj and head of their microsurgery team (reattachment of severed hands and the like). He has private hours at Phyathai 2 on Sundays and at Chao Phya Hospital (Thonburi) on Thursdays. Call first as he sometimes travels abroad.

He is US trained and not only a top notch hand specialist but also very nice and very sincere.

This muck up was caused by the doctors at Vejathani, I am seeing a specilist from Lanna here in Chiang Mai on Friday and will post the result, the GP at Lanna said he has full confidence they can restore it by breaking it again, and resetting it, 65,000 baht down the drain at Vejathani in Ladprao.

Thanks for the input, the axis of the small finger is like 30 degrees off to where it should be affecting all three joints and the next finger too, have broken more glasses from the weakness and habit of picking stuff up with out thinking.
