Today I was advised by a very reliable source that the Red Shirts intent descending on Pattaya this Saturday. Has anyone any information about this, just what we need when tourism is starting to pick up again.

Since Pattaya is already full of Red Shirts, [issan migrant workers, decend is not the word rise/demonstrate is closer.

As for confirmation I'll ask my lady, a fervent red shirt, when she wakes up :D

Big sign up on Sukhumvit at the bottom of Khaow Thalow, would seem to indicate a meeting on the 4th at that area on the corner.

Are we talking about Sep 4 2010????

Holy shit, I thought they were already on the WWF list for endangered species, but apparently not.

I am undecided though, neither like yellow nor red, but the current government does economically a good job recently, if you take a look at the figures.

Let's hope this yellow / red period will be over soon, it will just hurt the country and any unrest before the High Season would be a suicide for Pattaya and other tourist spot!

Cheers

They have been taking post for several days allready on Sukhumvit (selling shirts) just before the crossing with Theprasit road. They have a big styage setup and are preparing for a big gathering tomorrow there.

This afternoon they had several large trucks ready with speakers and flags (red) on them.

Tomorrow whole day meetings and some sort of concert I think??

The red shirts are setting up shop on what was the old market ground at the entrance to Soi Khaotalo from the Sukhumvit road end.

According to 'her indoors' the mass meeting is set for Saturday 4th September.

So should I see this as "here we go again" and just wait another 2-3 months for the next Bangkok burning.

By the way I can hear them right now having a speech from inside my home and I'm more then 3 km from the stage.
