Next week I am going to catch a train from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchatani then a bus to Mukdahar .

I will be applying for a Thai tourist visa in Svannakhet LAOS.

My only concern is that I already got two 15 day stamps from Poi Pet in the last month so I am not sure if that will be a problem. Do I need any supporting document or letter in thai ? or just submit as usual ... form + 2 photos.

Has anyone been to Svannakhet for a tourist visa .... and are there any issues ?

Svannakhet stopped being the Consulate of choice a while ago as they were far from friendly and helpful.

I can't see you having a problem though.

be prepared if you are unable to obtain the tourist visa' within the same day. there are few local lodging in area as well as the new Casino hotel Suvanna Vegas you can

Please advise us how you made out there. I would be interested to know, because I was advised to go there to change visa type, with Work Permit, as opposed to Vientiane.

I bought my train ticket today for Svannakhet ... so Sunday night its off on the Visa trip of a life time !! I prefer the train to a bus because at least you can walk around on the train ... anyway , I have a sleeper class so the accomodation cost is included ..hahaha.
