Loniten [tab] is Thai FDA category D so as long as there is a Pharmacist on duty and they stock it then yes no problem.

There are thousands of Pharmacists in Bangkok some goog some bad, if its just short term you want the drugs for then try boots. A little more expensive than many others but for a little extra money you can get peace of mind.

However if you are looking to purchase this drug long term in Thailand then I would hope someone else on the forum could help you, otherwise do some serious leg work for the best deal.

Stick to large pharmacies with air conditioning. There is a very big one on Sukhumvit around Soi 2 (more or less opposite the expressway entrance) that lots of foreigners use, it has a very large range of drugs. There are also quite a few clustered around the various major government hospitals, e.g. near Victory Monument on Rajawithi although these are less likely to have an English speaker.

Regardless, you should have the name of what you want carefully written down in capital letters to show them . Even non-English speakers will usually recognize the written form of the name since the medication labels are all in English.

Ask by generic name only as (1) they may not carry the brand Loniten and (2) even if they do, it will cost you far m ore than necesaary as there are locally made generic equivalents at a fraction the cost. Some of the local brand names include:

Modil

Noxidil

Manoxidil

S.M.-1

S.M-2

You might try also writing down the above underneath the generic name.
