schmutzie
Well, check some reviews...? Canon makes a great many cameras...What type of camera are you after? The Canon 7D and 1Dmk4 are supposed to be pretty solid in all sorts of weather.

I wouldn't worry about condensation too much.
astral
Watch out for heat as well. After a few years my EOS 620 film camera needed the internal rubber seals around the shutter replacing, they had virtually melted.

But the 7D is better. And the 5D is better than the 7D. And the .... But you'll sure take great pictures with the 450D and good lenses.

astral
I find the 17-85mm EFs that came with my 40D to be a good general lens. Equivalent to 28-135mm on a standard body.
drum
which of these 2 lenses is better for everyday use, canon 18-135 or 70 300,
powderpuff
I would prefer the first one
cdnvic
Depends on your subject matter. The first for landscapes and crowd shots, the long lens if getting candid shots of individuals.
canuckamuck
which of these 2 lenses is better for everyday use, canon 18-135 or 70 300, Without question, if you could only have one of these two, you will want the 18-135. You will find the 70-300 very frustrating if you want to photograph scenes or people groups.
eurasianthai
A 70-300mm is sure not for everyday use, on the cropped sensor, it means 112mm-480mm. This is the one you'll use if you go for a safari in Africa and do not want to be eaten by a lion. But well, not something you're likely to do every day
