Any Farang Bars/Pubs In Ladprao Or Ramkhamhaeng?

Hi guys,

I have been living in bangkok for about a year now and live in Bangkapi. I am so bored of having to trapes all the way to sukhumvit to have a chat in english or some nice english food. Anyone know of any farang hangouts or farang pubs in Ladprao, bangkapi ramkhamheang road areas?

I used to live in chiang mai and it was all good as 5 minutes away and there was always somewhere to go for a few beers. Where i live I havent even met 1 foreigner??

Also, due to this Im thinking of moving as my contract on my house is up soon where is a good farang area thats not sukhumvit as I drive a car and couldnt handle the traffic down there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try Huay Kwang, Suttisan, Rachada. Condos are between 10-25k depending on what you want and have parking. There's Carrefour and Robinson's at the Thailand Cultural Centre stop and Fortune Town at Paramgao. Also the Huay Kwang market. There's not much in the way of farang pubs, but there's certainly more of us here now than 3n years ago. As to traffic, stick with the subway.

thanks for the reply. but it has to be a house as I have a few cars and motorbikes. Also work on them and have a load of parts that need to go somewhere.

But surely there must be a few pubs around these areas that you guys are locals in? somewhere I can pop in from time to time and see some friendly farangs to have a beer or a game of pool with? I just cant be arsed with the 45-hour taxi both there and back if going to suk?

I've lived at Laksi for over 25yrs and up to now have not come across anything like a farang pub. I have to go into town for that, which suits me, I prefer to live away from it all

I agree its good to live away from all the shit and the morons but still. it would be nice if there was somewhere local to me that a few forigners go for a few mid week beers and a game of pool or something.

Started to drink at home alone cause cant be arsed to go into town and thats never a good think...

How far out on Ramkhamhaeng are you willing to go? I have occasionally gone here to shoot some pool:

It's a little far depending on your location in Bangkapi, but there are quite a few teachers in the area. I've seen mostly foreigners there when I go.

Dont know where in Bang Kapi you are.

There is some place out on Ram soi 164, but thats almost Min Buri.

Used to be a place on Lat Prao called The Fish, but havent been out that way in a while, perhaps the local experts could give us some up to date info.

In one of the moo baans on Happy Land, there is a farang run place with a pool table, cant remember its name.

There are a few Thai style bars that farangs frequent also on Happy Land, at the back of Tesco Lotus closer to Newamin rd.

Failing that get the boat into town from The Mall Bang Kapi, 17 baht takes about 30 minutes, taxi home, down Asoke, turn right onto either Pra Ram 9 or Petchaburi, then onto Rankhamhaeng rd, takes about 20-25 minutes and costs about 100-120 baht.

The closest to a farang type bar is probably Woodstock on Thong Lor.

thanks mate that rbs place is not actually that far from me. If only this F'in rain would stop I might pop up there for a bit of food and a few beers. Do you know what time the place closes?

and happy land is not far either. actually happy land is 5 minutes away. Any clues as to the name of any bars i might bump into some forigners at down there?

and definatly interested in the name of the bar or name of the moo baan that the farang owned place is on.

thats not a bad plan! if you know any cheap but nice bars in the ladprao area or ramkhamhaeng area that maybe have a pool table or some cute bangkok girls that hang out let me know i would be more than up for meeting with any of you guys and trying to make somewhere our local!

I had that in chiang mai and obviously had it in the UK. its always nice to have a local where what ever day you go in on your own you know everyone or at least a few people and can join a table and have a few beers and a chat.
