The poisoning of four dogs belonging to local resident Mr Naren Mingkwan on August 14th resulted in three deaths and one critical injury. The malevolent act saw poison laced with raw chicken placed near Mr Naren's fence, echoing a previous attack two months prior when two of his dogs succumbed to a similar fate. Tragically, other villagers have experienced comparable losses, leaving the once lively community with only a few pets remaining, reported the Bangkok Post. The distress among residents is palpable, with the belief growing that these acts aim to disable loyal guard dogs for a potential break-in. Yet, with no suspect identified, the atmosphere remains tense and uneasy. Authorities are on high alert as local police intensify investigations and community patrols to prevent further attacks. The concern extends beyond the loss of beloved pets, highlighting potential security threats that have villagers vigilant and on edge. Fears of further criminal activity have shaken the sense of community trust, prompting neighbours to rally together for protection. Crime Police Raid Fake Soy Sauce Factory Supplying Unsafe Goods

Police from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) have dismantled a counterfeit soy sauce operation supplying substandard products to markets and online buyers. On 15 August, Pol Maj Gen Tasanapoom Jaruprach, ECD commander, ordered Pol Col Phuwadet Julkasewi and his team to execute search warrants at three locations in Pathum Thani and Bangkok. Two women, Ms Natthakan, 35 and Ms Wan, 55, a Lao national, were arrested. Officers seized more than 75,600 items, including fake soy sauce, seasoning sauces, monosodium glutamate, instant coffee imitating registered trademarks and various production tools. The investigation began after officials discovered that small-scale vendors in Chachoengsao province were selling substandard fake sauces to the public, posing serious health risks. Surveillance revealed that a closed delivery van made regular weekly drop-offs. The driver was identified as Ms Wan, whose rented room in Bangkok’s Prawet district was later searched, yielding counterfeit products. Ms Wan confessed to purchasing the goods online from Ms Natthakan, who operated a factory and storage site in Thanyaburi district, Pathum Thani. Police raided the facility and found unhygienic production methods, with workers manually filling bottles with sauce. UK Future Pension Centre helpline - has anyone got through?
Not sure if the HMRC app is the same as a Government Gateway account (which has full details of unpaid years) but if it has established you have 5 missing years it might be better just ringing the DWP and asking for the 18 digit reference number so you can make the payment. Future Pensions Centre can only confirm your missing years, but in order to actuate payment you need the reference number from DWP. -

Two unlicensed practitioners were arrested. The raids, followed public complaints that clinics were offering medical procedures without proper licences, with treatments performed by people who were not qualified doctors. One clinic had openly advertised on social media, claiming to have expert surgeons for penis enlargement and circumcision. First raid: At a clinic on Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road in Thanyaburi district, officers found Mr Kenzo 28, performing a procedure on a customer. The clinic had no licence to operate and was in an extremely unhygienic state. Used and unused medical tools were stored together on the floor and in the kitchen, while used syringes were found in cupboards with no separation of infectious waste. Police seized 30 types of medicine and 625 medical tools. Mr Kenzo admitted he had only completed a nurse assistant course and had been working there for three to four months, earning 27,000 baht per month. He said a doctor only attended occasionally and he would carry out procedures himself when no doctor was present. Second raid: At another clinic in the same area, officers found Ms Ariya 37, injecting a client with vitamins. Although the clinic was licensed, there was no doctor on site. Ms Ariya admitted she had only a vocational certificate, no medical licence and had been working there for about a year. Police seized 13 types of medicine, including unregistered drugs. Authorities warned that allowing unqualified individuals to perform medical treatments breaches Thailand’s Healthcare Facility Act and can result in up to two years in prison, fines of up to 40,000 baht and the closure or revocation of a clinic’s licence. Additional offences include operating an unlicensed medical facility, practising medicine without a licence and selling unregistered drugs, each carrying further prison terms and fines. Health officials urged clinic operators to comply with the law and warned that “fake doctors” and illegal clinics will be targeted in ongoing enforcement operations. The public is encouraged to report suspicious facilities via the Department of Health Service Support hotline (1426) or the Consumer Protection Police Division hotline (1135).
