Visiting Other Members Profiles

Recommended Posts

Posted

I was looking at my profile yesterday and noticed I have had around 4000 profile views! that is a lot I think compared to how many posts I have made over the last few years.

I very rarely visit other users profiles, normaly only if I feel they are a Troll and I want to check there last few posts out before commenting on there posts/threads.

why or what reason would make other members check profiles of others?

Some of us are just nosey I suppose but then again if you see social networking as one of the functions of TV, then the profile page can bear a wealth of information about an individual who actually takes the time to put something on that page. Websites, comments and conversations, interests, about me, galleries, topics and posts, are some of what is available to share with others. :)

Popular dude you are... not like me. :( It all started with your quarrel with your lesbian neighbours and The Plant, you almost has a fanclub !

Well, you easy click on a profile link by accident, when you actually want to see 'last reply', on when in the message center you want to click to open a message but go to the profile instead.

Happens very often here and I'm not interested in reading peoples profiles, unless they use a big boobed non-celeb Asian chick as avatar.

Mostly as BKKcitylimits says.......by accident when going to last post, or scrolling down and not paying attention to where the cursor is sitting.

I sometimes go and check out sites after getting emails or messages of support ...... I have got a LOT of those lately and then become chatting friends , I think the social private functions when they are not being used by abusive people in an abusive or phony annoying way, are a just another nice element to the site. Sometimes people can say what they really want to say in pm to each other where as in public they might get a complaint from someone who was offended.......... Most of the non , abusive intentionally annoying ones I get fit in that category ..... people venting a little I guess ....... But I have got a few a while back who were freaking out over what I said about passports ... it was crazy , but I didn't feel the need to tattletale so I think it's good for someone who is really angry at someone to ... he vented and felt better I guess ...... Just be aware that some people get their panties in a wad over nothing and whine to the mods so don't use bad language or it will get ya a 5 day vacation, if you made a more serious really crazy one you would get banned for a long time or forever. But 5 days for rude language is pretty common.

If someone asks to be my friend, I always check out what they have had to say before agreeing.

I never check my profile ( unit this thread piqued my interest ) and notice I have one friend. They never asked to be my friend. How'd that happen if they have to ask first?

Cheers. I thought it was a bit presumptuous.

Glad to see I'm not alone. ( You didn't catch me having a crafty wank at about 3 this afternoon did you)?

That is another reason to go sort out your settings on your profile page. You can control things like notifications and the need for approval before comments or friends become visible. I refuse email notifications and turn off aviators among other things. ;)

Your settings are likely on no approval first. Anyone can make a friending move to you. It isn't like rape, is it? It's a digital blip. In your case, if you don't approve, just remove, easy peasy, hardly worth mentioning.

Think the OP's cu_t status with his argument over the pot plant and parking in his soi, has probably propelled himself to one of the leaders in profile views. :)

There seems to be a letter missing in the 4th word of your post above.

The OP, is actually quite a funny man & I probably made up 1000 of those profile views, as i often go via that section to send someone a PM, which I normally do if I want to use a set of particular set of words or descriptions ;) .

I find alot of profile views because people like to check out mrs neverdie & even suspect some posters :whistling: even manipulate themselves whilst looking at her.

That means a lot coming from a Toad, thanks very much. :D

onnut started me thinking and I found that my profile has had over 3,300 views, 5 greens (thank you 5 people) and I am neutral.

Also I usually end up on somebodies profile by the same way that BKKcitylimits and 473geo did, by accident.

Most likely you'll find that when you've had an arguement with someone on a topic they visit your profile and give you a 1 star rating.

Maybe doesn't happen so much now the reputation feature is here though?

I was having fun with the OP - as he does indeed have a sense of humour - his flower pot and parking story will be a TV classic.

As to people manipulating themselves over Mrs ND, what do you mean by this? Some sort of Tantric technique?

Welcome Onnut. I'm glad you saw the humour in my post as well. ;)

My TGF asked if it was a ladyboy. I never even thought for a moment it coukl be a ladyboy. Not that I have anything against ladyboys

I don'y look at profiles except in cases like this where there is a string of responses to a post.

I never look at other members and don't even check out my own.

Yes, but do you look at other member's member, or check out your own?:lol:

Before reading this thread, I would hardly ever check someone's profile, unless I wanted to find their content, see what they were posting about, etc.

Now I look at Mrs Neverdie, twice a day. :)

As much as he complains about it, I'll bet Jingthing is busy checking all day long. I'm like you in that I never checked any profile until all the hubaloo about it.

Mrs. Neverdie has been a female since birth. Check out her hands. :D
