Championship Football From England - Is It On In Thailand

Watching Premiership football and in particular Manchester United seems to be a national passtime in Thailand, when they score a goal I can hear a cheer from the streets below if I'm sitting in my apartment and I'm on the 12th floor.

Does anyone know where I can watch the Championship games in Bangkok ? I'm particularly interested in any Coventry games.

Can't say that I have seen any live Championship games here in Thailand although TRUE do carry a weekly Championship highlights show.

I think it is going to be hard to find Championship coverage and that you best hope will come from non-Thai satellite packages that some people can pick up within the Kingdom. MultiChoice Africa used to have some games but can't now be received in Thailand due to a change in the transmissions as a result of copyright issues. Take a look at this website, which will at least give you an idea of the packages that may be of interest.

Select 'daily TV' from the drop down menu at the top. Then put your cursor on the relevant package listed against the game to see which satellites carry it.

UK, Why don't you try the Crossbar on Soi 23 Suk, across from Sino Thai tower, or google Crossbar at bangkok.

The Pub is a sports bar and as your name implies ( Being UK ) not only shows English Championship games but also the Scottish SPL as well as EPL.

The Pub has a great atmosphere, 100 baht Tiger pint special offer, good food etc and supporters from many different clubs.

It also has its own prediction league ( yes EPL ) with a monthly prize - no charge to join so why not, being a Paisley man I am in it.

Before you ask I have NO connection with the bar I am just a regular passing on good info.

We watched the Cardiff v Swansea game after the Mighty St Mirren were beaton by Rangers and then the Liverpool game.

IE you can watchup to 5 yes 5 games at the one time so give it a try what is there to lose.

Hope to see you soon, just ask for Iain - the Scottish guy :D we can have a pint.

You're probably right there, I might be the only one. Typically, they are on TV this Saturday and I have a party to go to so I will most likely miss it !

Are you sure this pub shows Championship games? When I look on their website then click 'sports schedule' it just links me to the supersports website schedule that shows no Championship games.

Anyone else know a place to watch Championship games?

Hi Everyone,

Better late than never, forced into going to Fortune Tower yesterday, hence the delay.

Not alot to report, the Ashes have started and I am opening at 9.30 to accomodate the insomniacs, there are more Npower matches so 2 are shown each weekend, with QPR VS Cardiff this week and Swansea featuring again next weekend.

I am trying to find the full TV schedule for Astro Supersport, not just 1 week as is all I can find at present, if they are going to continue showing Rugby Union then I will consider getting another TV with a dedicated feed, if I can find a place to put another TV, there is a possibility that England South Africa will be shown, but it clashes with QPR, so dependant on how many supporters are in will decide which game is shown.

Am awaiting for my Sat man to come back to me on the possibility of another box, which will enable me to be show more live sporting events.

One for the diary, December 11th is the 3rd Anniversary of the bar and it is also my birthday, so we will be putting on a free buffet, I have ordered a whole smoked Wiltsshire Ham for the event, which should be magnificent, all are welcome with Tiger on offer again at 100 Baht a pint all night, there will also be other giveaways with the possibility of extende happy hour on bottled beer, as usual this is a great night with too much food and drink and me ringing the bell, not only when Wolves win but also whenever they score a goal, a one off this will be, if they continue playing as they are It wont cost me too much money!

I will continue to open at the ungodly time of 9.30 so come and enjoy the ASHES, after todays rain, the 1st test is very well balanced, got reasonaboe crowd coming in, including the Whingers, from both countries.

Brian The Landlord

I hope this Helps
