English Training In Bang Na Area

Featured Replies

I have a friend who wants to do English training on a part-time basis (about 20 hours per week), and lives and works in the Bang Na area (specifically Nong Bon). Wall St seems an obvious choice, as they have an office in Seacon Square.

Her current English skills are probably close to intermediate, having studied English before, and having worked as an accountant for a foreign company.

Can anyone tell me anything about the quality of Wall St, and if there are any other schools that should be considered (proximity is a big advantage)?

Thanks

I am going to give your topic a 'bump' up and hopefully some people from the area will be around to help you out a little.

One thing to do is have your friend visit the classes and sit in on one and see how it is.

Thanks for the bump.

It may help to talk about the results of my research to date.

I have narrowed down to two providers, who have offices in the Bang Na area:

1. Wall St

2. Inlingua

Both are multi-national firms, and appear to have local facilities in the immediate area.....although I'm not certain what facilities Inlingua have in Bang Na

For a 4 month, 20 hour / week training, I have a firm price from Wall St. I'm now sure whether it is appropriate to disclose this, but it compares to about 50% of the equivalent course by University of Melbourne, or RMIT, in Australia. Given the labour rate difference between the two countries, I would have expected a bit less.

I emailed Inlingua two days ago, but have yet to hear from them.

Any advice appreciated.

I would suggest you do a little more looking into Wall St before making any decision to send your friend there. Check out the "classes" and see how much talk time your friend will be getting with a native speaker.

There are many places around RU that are acceptable.

Your friend could take a look at King's College of English, they've had a branch in Central Bang Na for some years. I'd expect them to be rather cheaper than Wall Street and, frankly, better in terms of quality.

Thanks for this information. I had not spotted this school before, and in fact, I think they could use some better marketing!

This looks very good. Although we have selected inLingua, this looks well like checking out after the initial inLingua training finishes.

Thanks for the advice.
