Hi guys,

I think it's about time I got my trusty steed fully serviced. It's just had it's 3rd birthday and I want all its bits and bobs checked so I can get get another 3 years out of it. I used to be able to get it fully serviced by Honda on Mahidol Road for free when it was under guarantee but now I'm looking for a quality full service without having to pay the big bucks that Honda would probably charge.

Can any of you recommend a decent garage or mechanic who specialises in servicing scooters like mine? Any ideas of the cost? Also, pardon my ignorance but what exactly would a full service require? I am technically illiterate when it comes to what makes my Click tick...(sorry, couldn't resist)

Many thanks :jap:

you dont need a rocket scientitist to sevice a motor bike .

any of the local MC, repair shops , could do that .

i make a point of waiting , to make sure whats being done .

never had any problems , and a lot cheaper than main dealers.

don't you have Greenwing shops down there ?. Sell only Honda motorcycles.

Service, 100 baht for Oil. 180 for a new spark plug. maybe a filter also. actual service charge is usually free.

Just watch them do the Job.

I go to a Honda dealer. GF used to take her's to local repair shops.

When I took her bike to a good mechanic, we found the brake fluid had never been changed for the same reason they probably won't

replace the drive belt when they should - many Thais don't want to spend 300 baht unless it is completely broken.

At some (many) shops, for example, they will fill the tires, then squeeze them with their fingers or thump them with a wrench and declare them perfect.

Later, a gauge shows 50 psi in one tire, 70 psi in the other. Blowout city - they should be around 30 psi.

If they won't invest 100 baht in a tire gauge or learn how to use one, will they do a good service?

Some shops are much better than others. If the dealers do charge a premium, it's still not a lot of baht.
