The courses mentioned will definitely help Thai students if they are presented in a fair and balanced manner, with criticism of Thailand when warranted. Of course, it won't be done that way. It will be all about rallying around the flagpole. The world is small with the Internet, so foreign languages, world history (people's history not wars) and cultural studies. The hardest thing to teach is foreign culture, why we think the way we do, and why Thais think the way they do. The mould is, in my experience, impossible to break. You can't escape your cultural upbringing.
