Selling A Krugerrand

Recommended Posts

I had some a few years ago and couldn't find a bank or gold shop to accept them (Chiang Mai). Ended up having a friend who was going back to England to convert them and pay me after his return.

//edit - wished I kept them a while longer now. :(

Get down to Yaowarat Road in Chinatown plenty of the shops down there will have it off you,you will just have to do some legwork.

The real question is how much will you accept?

In Silom, Patpong area there is a Chinese Gold Shop that buys Kuggerands. I've had one sold their a while ago.

Gold closed at US$ 1369.80 last Friday. www.kitco.com

A premium is added when you buy a coin from a bank or dealer. When selling your coin you will always receive less than the spot price, unless you sell to a private person.

A most frequently asked question by proprietor of gold shop, when someone is trying to unload a gold coin, be it whatever origin or whatever size--

how do we know, the content is 99.999 pure gold?

However, if you would allow them to assay.... then perhaps you could depart with some cash in hand....tongue.gif

China town in bkk would be a good place to start hawking....smile.gif
