Entry Stamp Number Limit Still In Effect?

Featured Replies

Sawaatdii krap.Is there still a limit to the number of entry stamps (by land crossing/border runs) a person can have on their passport in a 6 month time period?? I remember there being a certain number entries within a 6 month period. back when you could get 30day stamp by land. Is that still so?

I have I have US passport with ;

1 yr non ImB followed by 3 x 15day Mae Sai land crossings,

followed by a 1 entry Tourist Visa from Cambodia with a 30 day extension.

should I anticipate any problems at Mae Sai?

or just go to Vientiane for another Tourist Visa..

any words from wisdom and experience?

Thanks

There is no set limit anymore but they might ask if you are employed here. There should not be any problem getting a new 15 day stay however. Vientiane is getting strict about multi visa in passport however so those with three or more may not receive another (but not everyone reports the same experience).

For what it's worth - I got 4 back-top-back 30-day tourist visas at Savanakhet, but on the 4th the consul wrote a note which basically says no more until I do the whole Thai bank account thing and produce the financial means proof. This is in spite of me having all my ATM receipts and bank statements to back it up. It's not that they think I am working (I am 64 and retired), they just don't like tourists to be anything more than passing through. This came from a few comments made between the consul officers in the background while they were discussing my case - they didn't think I would understand what they were saying ;) Maybe not official policy - or is it?

I now have to guess how long I have to stay out before I can return. I might apply to the Thai consul in Ireland (Irish passport) for a 4 entry 60 day and see what happens.

You had ATM and bank statements of what to back up what? And what nationality are you (most get 60 day tourist visa stay). If you can meet the requirements for retirement that is what you should obtain (800k in bank account 2 months, 65k monthly income/pension on Embassy letter or a combo to meet 800k per year). Most Consulates will issue at least one non immigrant O visa if you intend to start the process in Thailand.

If u understand Thai that well, u should know there is no 30 day Tourist visas or u got a double entry and misunderstood that u have to go back to the consulate every 30 Day. The touristvisa is 60 day and 30 day on at the immigration office in Thailand
