One-Year Extension Details - Question

Does the one-year extension end date change if one leaves Thailand for an extended period (13-15 months)? I understand the need to get a Re-entry Permit prior to leaving, which negates the need for the 90-day notification routine, but I am unclear if the Re-entry Permit process simply allows the One Year Extension to restart upon eventually returning to Thailand, regardless of length of time spent outside the country.

A Re Entry Permit keeps your current permision to stay date alive.

It does not extend it.

if you are out of the country the day your extension ends, you will have to start the extension of stay process again on re-entry, no need for a re-entry permit. you will need a visa for re-entry

A re-entry permit would not be valid as they are the same are your current extension of stay.
