Again, with respect, I would suggest at 4,444 postings, your present position not only gives you some latitude, but you also seem to be able to take all longitude. the equator, the tropics of Capricorn and Cancer as well.

Boon Me, I agree with TM

with 4400 posts on that forum, a 1000 more on the bearpit (and you are a mod there) and another few hundreds on that sicko site AE and not even counting your AI Jane forum, I think you have a real work ethics problem :o

Are you a lazy conservative or are you just taking turns with Porkie using the same moniker ? :D

Sometimes I have restrain myself from posting because I AM a mod, shame as I do have other things to say.

Tuky...when Ice Maiden arrived, you did seem to be wrestling with the downsides of your official role !

That was one of the many times that I get carried away Moog, usually caused by a few beers.

At that point it really did seem like the idea of posting pics of I M would take off, come morning I had to cringe :D

Another example was the daleyboy thread, goading him and others into starting a flame war...oops :o

Anyway, Just to dispell the rumours, I am human too :D

Having said that, could a few beers make me trigger happy too?

I don't think I could be a mod. Must be a hard job Tuky?

I do not really do that much nowdays I M, not really pulling my weight you could say, but I do watch out for glaring problems. Your perspective changes after a while. I have been a mod for nearly 2 years, not long after I joined I was promoted to mod as I believe the mamnagement saw my potential

:D:D:D

Nah, you do not want to be a mod.

Let's get those numbers right here! :D

I've got over 3k posts in the Bearpit (a fine forum I might add) but let's consider how long some of these forums have been around and I've not been turfed off (yet) as some? :o

TM is the young and naive poster, no?

Ice you famous for the age and wisdom you put in every post.

D´you wanna drink?

I´ve only got around a thousand posts but most of them have been either oneliners, smilies or :D ´s.... and a ###### of a lot of them mention some drink called The best Rum in the world.

Some are thailand related... sometimes....

Actually....All of my posts, YES EVERY SINGLE one of them, are absolutely exquisite in all aspects; Informative, humouristic, cordial, respectful, constructive.....

YEs.... I am now my own favorite poster... I´m gonna ignore evreeryboddy else... Mods, Help, How do i ignore everyone?

:D:o:D

and for anybody who didn´t bother reading that:

Intellectual postings that reflect that some research or thought went into it are what does it for me... whether I agree with their point of view or not.

For that reason, I enjoy Moog, chownah, taxexile... and Ajarn (miss his posts a lot), among others.

Humorous postings are another aspect I enjoy...and as with most humor, it's often hit and miss. Often the hits are best done when they are unintentional... :D

Informative postings that reflect a large degree of what I would consider truly experienced in Thailand are another thing I respect... with the likes of GazChiangMai, Random Chances, NedKelly and of course, Lopburi.

Congrats on 3K, jaidee.... I'm not far off myself... and sadly, my garden suffers because of it.... :o

*edit*... my "preferred list" is by no means all inclusive. I've read good stuff from literally dozens of members.

I look first to see if there were any replies to my latest posts (My Assistant). After that, I check out my favourite forums - General/Pub/Bedlam for anything that looks fun to read.

I only post if:

1) I think I have something to add

2) Something has got my ire up

3) I feel in a silly enough mood to add a quip

4) Am bored stupid at work and the boss is off site

I try to be truthfull and give my point of view. I don't make stuff up. I like the odd funny (quip/flame), but get turned off if it overtakes a thread that I'm interested in. I get pissed (that's peeved, not drunk) when a good thread turns into pages and pages of slaging - especially when its not funny. Trolls are OK if they are funny or start a conversation that is interesting; Thailand/Farang bashing Trolls with "Farangs are A-Holes" type threads I ignore completely.

Guess that's why I'm and oldie in the membership stakes, but still haven't hit the 4 digits.

Age and wisdom? You make me sound real old. Famous, oh really? Yeah I'll have a drink as long as it's non alcoholic. Don't want another debate about underage drinking.

HANGOVER DELIRIUM??? :D

I have my favorites who I like to banter with, and I will generally read their posts first, but in all honesty I think I read every single post, anything but the boredom of work, when it gets to about 4am Thai time the board is quite quiet, it gives me time to browse through the whole board. :o

I don't really like the political postings, especially the non thai stuff, It just bores me, but having said that, it's worth a read when there's nothing else going on.

I'm here for entertainment, mine and others, and I am satisfied. :D

Also, some make comments about my "one liners", the thing is I haven't got enough time or concentration to spare on writing an essay whilst at work, so the one liners work for me.

Let’s face it, anyone who posts more than a thousand postings to a forum like Thaivisa... blah... blah... blah...

This is exactly the sort of post I find dissapointing and boring and completely negative. :D

Tell me TM, have you ever posted anything about Thailand on this forum? :o

Nah, you do not want to be a mod.

No way... I've seen tukyleith at work as a moderator, and TV is a completely different kettle of fish from that perspective. As a mod one cannot join in the fun so much... you have a job to do, and kepping the riff-raff out plays a big part. :D

Nope... my hat comes off to you ladies and gents who have donned the robes of moderation on ThaiVisa... not an easy job at all... but thanks for doing it.... it'd be bedlam in here if you didn't... :D

Congrats on 3K, jaidee.... I'm not far off myself... and sadly, my garden suffers because of it.... :D

Cheers John... although my post count is high over a relatively short time, I access TV from work (I can feel a disapproving frown from TM already) and don't let it interfere with things I have to do. I have a job where I've organised everything and everyone into a well-oiled machine (if such an animal exists in Thailand) and my constant attention is not required, so I alleviate my boredom here. :D

Don't let your garden suffer mate... remember the days when you were keen... and used to get joy out of your garden... it's still there... waiting for you. :D

For me, totsters one-liners can be the most humerous I've read on TV. Your posting style is light-hearted and funny, and I enjoy reading your posts. You've also got a good way of deffusing a thread... letting off the steam so to speak.

Actually, everyone that's replied in this thread so far I read, for better or worse, richer or poorer etc... and there are others out there whom I enjoy reading too.

I wonder why they haven't replied... maybe seeing a topic started by me that doesn't have tits or jokes in it has put them off? :D

Maybe I'd better go now and contribute to the Risque Jokes thread instead... :D

OK... I'll go tend to it today... and then maybe head over to your "well-oiled machine" massage parlor business to soothe the tired muscles... :D

I tend to like reading the majority of posts on here. Because all of you are older and wiser than me

Well...... you're half right. :o

with apologies, please add Gazza and Thetyim in my preferred list of posters...

:o

no doubt there'll probably be more as I encounter postings that trigger my ever-failing memory.

i have my favourites , although i rarely agree with them.

merton , moog, boonmee spring to mind , probably because they have been particularly verbose lately.

thetyim has a great sense of humour as does the poster with the laughing dog avatar.

i will often choose posts to read by the op or the last posters name.

some people give out great information , lopburi for travel , the visa people , and scouser for his knowledge of the uk system. ( wouldnt expect anything less from a scouser)

the thai language regulars are favourites of mine too.

i appreciate someone who can put forward a really good argument as much as someone who can , with eloquence and wit , demolish someone elses argument.

i like the political postings , although i find i am somewhat out of my depth in them , i have my views , but i cant back them up with anything more than predujices.

i'm afraid i think that a lot of the "how bigs yer knob", "is your hairy minge like a camels foot" and "are you a daft <deleted>" kind of post are not really necessary here , and serve little purpose ,there are more subtle ways of being lighthearted , but they do get a lot of replies (..... but then again "big brother" and "the sun" get a lot of viewers and readers.)

with 10 to 15 pages a day being added , its getting harder to keep up with things here.

the moderation is a bit heavy handed and unfair sometimes , but i see the need for moderation.

bar / massage topics seem to be allowed in the pink pages , but not anywhere else. why is that ?

When you give it some thought, you realize that this forum is pretty huge and that even skimming everything new every day consumes quite a bit of time.

My strategy is to first read threads to which I am subscribed; mainly by reading my e-mail inbox. Then I "View New Posts" and stop to actually read only threads where the topic is of interest.

I most admire posters with quick wit and savage senses of humor. We all know who they are.

I most value posters like Lopburi3 who has helped me out more times than I can recall.

Taxexile: Links to all of those bar/massage topics, please? Haven't noticed them myself (except for the "list of bar locations" topic, which was always pretty tame and hasn't been posted to in eons, and a recent post by a newbie which was blatantly against TV policy and pretty quickly controlled.... the last topic that was about barboys was shut down by a moderator).

Of course, I'm sure there must be some since you say they are- but obviously you keep track of the gay forum much more closely than I do.

I never use the recent posts button or whatever its is. I just pop onto the forum just after doing emails etc. I then work my way through my favourite forums till I finally get to bedlam. There is many guys/girls on here that i enjoy their posts more than some. Others bore the shit out of me and cant be bothered reading SOMETIMES. Cant be bothered reading political postings. I gotta say for all the people i've met from this forum. I can honestly say. There is not one person that i havent liked. So most people i have met when i read their posts then they are not just another unknown member but some one who i've shared a laugh and drink with.(you know who you are) I think that the Moog and bkkmadness are both funny guys and would like to share a beer or 12 with. But as many people have said. Its hard to say who is a favourite or the one you look out for.

I enjoy most posters on this site, in fact out of 20k+ members i only have one person on ignore.

I usually start on general topics then work my way down to bedlam :o

I will read most topics but i dont really care for the political ones, i mean its just horses for courses i guess.

I am not going to put a list down of who i read and dont read as the list would be rather one sided, i will just say there are some more than others that i enjoy. :D

Btw Tuky that thread you started about me was good fun, good to have a laugh now and again. Also it was in one topic so when you read it you knew exactly what you were getting and it was mostly done in good spirit :o

i am a broad minded person , accepting of people of all backgrounds , religions and sexual persuasions and i read topics in all the forums , but by the tone of your comment , it sounds as if you are making assumptions about my sexuality based purely on the fact that i forum hop on this board.

it is a sad fact of life today that people are judged, often unfairly , by their background , religion or sexuality.

but its good that people should be upfront about those things and declare them proudly for all to see and know.

if i should ever contemplate becoming a vagina decliner , or if i ever accidentally hop on the wrong bus and find myself heading towards the pavillion end , then i would certainly seek the advice and support from the fine and upstanding posters who enjoy social intercourse on the pink pages.

but i must say i have noticed a more liberal attitude to certain topics on the other side of the fence , behind the bushes so to speak.

if i am mistaken , then please accept my apologies.
