Internet Phone To Call Thailand Mobile... Which Company Rate Is Cheapest?

Featured Replies

as subject? mainly to mobile phone in Thailand.

i only know skype but their rate isn't very attractive.

any provider can beat skype?

Try DTAC 4thb a min, direct dial, 004(then your country code, area code, then phone number, then wait).

Try smartvoip.com you need to sign up, put $20 into the account, reasonable rates for all over the world but free to many countries like US, Canada, Thailand.

Skype subscription? It costs me about 3 pounds 50 a month. Unlimited calling.

I use Localphone.com - 1.3 euro cent per minute to call Thai mobiles.

Downside to using VOIP to call Thailand is that, unless the provider peers direct, connections tend to be patchy. Affects all/most VOIP providers.

Benefit of Skype would be that they (most likely) peer direct, so the quality of service is better. I use Localphone from my mobile over 3g and it works fine also.

I am with VoIP.ms

The only problem I have is they don't have a server in Asia, so I use Los Angeles, and it works alright for the most part, despite 300ms latency.

But if you want to call a Thai mobile, chances are you are not in Asia ? So one of their other SIP servers would be closer.

You can view their rates here for 'T':

http://voip.ms/rates.php?l=t

A touch under US 1c/minute for Thai mobiles + landlines.

To call out you may need to get a DID (number) ; many US/Canada ones for like 50c-$1/month. But if you are doing enough calling, should offset itself versus another companies higher rate.

Good luck :)
