Handyman

Featured Replies

Hi have recently moved house and have now decided where all the paintings and photo's are to go, does anyone know someone they can recommend who does a good job

:cheesy:

Yea that will be fun watching someone in english give a thai commands about where to hang it and expect a neat job. Not to mention she is not telling where she lives.

OP - It would be handy if you could post what area of Thailand you live in, & one of the board mods could then move your topic to the appropriate forum.

Sorry live in Eastern Bangkok

There is a severe logistical problem ahead of you.

You will be instructing the handyman in English? Handymen rarely are fluent in English - or priced thereafter. And I am going to guess you are expecting to paint peanuts.

Let's move this over to the Bangkok Forum.

Topic Moved.

This may sound too simple I know.

All I done was drill a hole in the wall. Knocked in a raw plug, put in a screw with a screwdriver then hung up my pictures and paintings.

Completed the same process with wall clocks and a couple of wood carvings.

Err, does this sound too easy or what? Or am I missing something here?

I have found that the main problem is drilling holes in a concrete wall. You will need a powerful hammer drill and good quality masonry/concrete drill bits.

I completed all my drilling with a drill (some make I never heard of) that had a hammer facility I bought from Tesco Lotus 9 years for 299 baht.

I purchased some cheap masonry drill bits from my local market, went through anything with no problems, cement, brick and cement block.

The drill went on for 8 years until I lent it to a neighbor who left the thing out in the rain one night. I recently bought a Black and Decker drill from Home Pro for 840 baht. Does a fantastic job. Learn`t my lesson, will never lend out tools again.

Now, would I lie to you?

Word of advice to the OP

Going back 3 years ago when i was having my house built..i was just chilling with a beer and watching the Thai builders working on my house,

Then it come to this one builder .who it looked to me was looking around for some thing and he was just standing there scratching is head and in deep thought

Yes you may not believe me ..but i will tell you again he was in deep thought

I was thinking to myself ..what could be on is mind ,,what was troubling him so much

And then it all came out .he was looking for a hammer and he could not see one..

So he then had a bright idea the brightest idea he as ever had in is whole life.

He decided to take off one of is flip flops and then started using it or at least trying to use it as a hammer..cheesy.gif Funniest thing i have ever seen

If you want some thing done and you want some thing done good..better to do it your self smile.gif
