How To Get To Pai From Chiangmai

Featured Replies

I had visited Chiangmai and the North quite a few times. This time I am planning to stay a few days in Pai, specifically at the Bueng Pai Farm. I suppose I could get the Farm to pick me up in Pai once I make my way there.

Any advice on transport from Chiangmai to Pai would be appreciated.

We always go on the mini bus (not van) about a 20 seater .Leaves Chiang Mai Bus Arcade (towards the back). departures about every hour from memory from about 8am. Cost 150 baht one way, 3 hour trip ,with a half way stop ....excellent value, careful drivers.

Rent a 125 plastic pig, head up the Mae Rim/Chiang Dao road (north) for 45k and turn left before Mae Taeng. Bueng Pai (Ran & Orn, previously owners of Sun Hut) are a few clicks past their old place - you'll need to go through Pai (right at the lights), or turn right before Pai Canyon, past hot springs and go the back way avoiding town. If you've never done it before, it'll be a real buzz. ;)

fly

i'm not kidding

at least one way

it's cheap and

about triple the height of a hot air balloon

and when you land the 14 year old chubby kid drives the fire truck out to meet the plane.
