Life Cycle Of Cassava And Sugarcane

Recommended Posts

Sawadee Krap,

First, I want to introduce myself. I'm an exchange student from Germany and study at Thammasat University temporary.

In order for a senior project our goal is to support Thai farmer to gain maximum utilization of their crops. There is a case study about linear programming which analyze the best planting cycle for 2 different crops to gain the biggest profit.

It will be open source, maybe published in a journal, so that everyone can have free access to the information.

My problem is to get information about Thai planting cycles in English. It would be really nice if someone could give me the simple planting cycle information, I don't need detailed information like about fertilisation.

Is is a simplified model which analyse only average numbers like planting time, cost per rai, profit per rai etc..

So far, we gathered data about cassava but couldn't find data about sugar cane. I will list the data we already know and it would be really nice if someone could add the missing data.

Cassava

Life Cycle:

. In practice, most crops are typically planted before the raining period (February/March/April) and some are after the raining period (November/December/January).

Harvest time after 10-12 months.

Average is about 21.6 tons per hectare

1 rai = 3.45tons

Costs:

1t = $42.81 / 1t = 1500Baht

1 rai = 5175 Baht

Selling Price:

1t = $86.75 / 1t= 3036Baht

1 rai = 10475 Baht

Maybe you can add something or give comments about these information.

I read many different things about sugarcane, I believe it has a strong variety about the location so if someone could give me information about sugarcane in Thailand would be really great.

best regards!!
