Unless you and the car are leaving Thailand then you cannot claim the VAT back. :blink:

You would have to declare it an export, claim back the vat, declare it as an import in Laos with the possibility of getting hit for VAT or import tax, then when you return with it to Thailand get hit with 200% of the new value as an import tax!

Dang, you make 7% sound good. What's 70 or 80,000baht anyhow when it goes to a good cause.
