bkkmadness
Oh yes!!! someone posts a little criticism and everyone rushing in to call him a moron etc.read his diatribe, it does make a little sense!!! were you searching for some direct link to yourselves in there...maybe we all were the only thing he did not realise was that being in the forum is not compulsory, there are all sorts of people in here, and their views can be crap, or great, depending so he can stay, he can criticise, but he cant change a thing!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Siamone, reread the original post. He did not only post this in the Thai Visa forum but sent it to Thai newspapers and the english language newspapers as well. If he has a problem with TV then he can just leave but he doesn't have to attempt to make trouble for everyone here by posting his criticisms far and wide. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> SBK, though I believe the guy is trying to make trouble for the site, I do think that if he does have genuine criticism then he can post it wherever he wants. There are many crticisms wrote into the papers everyday of other organisations, I think thats a fair play. I wonder if TV has penned a response to his criticism and sent that to the papers as well? That seems like a good response to make rather than just slagging the person off on here. George, get a statement written up, expalin that this website is a massive help to all foreigners that wish to travel and move into the country and an excellent resource for both tourists and expatriates alike blah de blah. Not only a good response, but some good publicity as well I would have thought. Edited September 12, 2005 by bkkmadness
Boo
Bkkmadness, he didn't actually post this in the forum, just sent it to the papers. The admin team decided to post this as a way for posters to express their views on it. My thoughts are, if he doesn't like the site or the way it's run then he doesn't have to look. I think it's pointless. I wonder if it's the same <deleted> who threatened via pm to me to turn up at a tv meet up with thai friends, to do what I don't know? as most thais I know don't bother with pointless whining, it seems to be a farang trait. Just saying if someone slagged me bizzo off to the papers, I would have written a response to the critcism and sent that to the same papers. I think someone from TV's admin should do the same. rio666uk
this guys rantings are very similar to a post not so long ago - where the guy said that 99% of postings and advice were inaccurate and gave everyone a slating... it was a long diatribe that started with young thai monks fighting over girls, then idiot farrangs and the TV site, he finished his post by saying something along the lines of "if the all powerfull george wants to ban me - i dont care - i would laugh" the thread's been deleted - thankfully - but it certainly seems that someone is feeling disgruntled. ahh bless
mouse
I do not know who the guy was and do not totally undertsand his beef yet. But, I suggest that the mods tighten up a little and we all exercise a little self-restraint and common sense when critisizing the establishment and writing some of the things that we do. This forum been part of my life for a long time now and I do not want too loose any of the fun, priveledges and knowledge gained through it. sriracha john
Empty threats from a disgruntled poster... To think ANY paper would go to the trouble to actually publish such rubbish is far too remote... certainly haven't seen it published myself. Has ANYONE? No responsive action is necessary on the part of TV, unless the McIntosh baby issue doesn't fill all the news someday. Gazza
I must confess that I don't know anything about this 'Mc Intosh' story. I take it someone wealthy or famous has had a baby out of wedlock which would no doubt be tagged 'a love-child'? sriracha john
a bit , but In the finest tradition of the 1950's-style public shaming... Kathaleeya's been drummed out of town: Scottish actress flees Thailand (interesting the UK press claims her Scottish heritage) September 18, 2005 Kathaleeya McIntosh, 33, has been forced to leave the country where until recently she was regarded as one of its leading stars, appearing in a host of television soaps. News of her pregnancy has outraged her legions of fans — in Thailand, woman are expected to maintain their “virtue” until they are married. McIntosh was forced to convene a press conference amid growing speculation about her weight gain — initially blamed on an adverse reaction to a herbal remedy — and a relentless campaign by tabloid journalists. When she revealed that she was five months’ pregnant, a newspaper columnist shouted “I hate you!” and one of Bangkok’s most popular websites crashed as people clamoured to log on and read her full statement. Television and radio programmes cleared their schedules of Hurricane Katrina and Iraq to devote air time to her. The backlash has been so bad that McIntosh and her Thai boyfriend Songran Krajannet, a 30-year-old property dealer, have fled to Detroit to stay with relatives until the baby is born. McIntosh’s appearances in top-rated soap operas including the bizarrely named The Pork Vendor’s Daughter and The Spell of Country Music have seen her popularity soar. Her roles — typically a virtuous leading lady pursued by a hero who is thwarted at every turn by a cast of villains — have gripped audiences. She was even appointed the country’s Unicef envoy. However, the backlash is now threatening her career.

Ricardo
so 'diddums' doesn't like some of the posters/threads on TV. 'tough titty' as my mother tells me they say in the USA. clearly diddums has a sense-of-humour defficiency but it's unfriendly to try to stir up trouble for farangs, with Thai newspapers or people, and not what one would expect from someone who claims to have been around Asia for decades.
