670+Lb Blue Marlin Tagged & Released

Featured Replies

Just heard that the guys onboard 4Reel a Phuket Charter Sportfisher caught tagged and released a 670+lb Blue Marlin on 80lb Gear en route to the Andaman Islands in a fight duration of 1 hour. Well done Gerry and the Guy's pictures will follow when they get in E mailing range.

I think there'll be a lot of hungry Thai's heading out that way soon on this news

Wow great catch. Would love to get something like that on my stand up gear!

Do please post the pics!

Good show. Make me want to go fish at Andaman again.

No photos = no fish: thanks for playing.

In this day and age of photoshop even a picture isnt a sure thing. There are even fishermen who quote ridiculous weights with pictures. I am not referring to this post.

We shall wait for the photos as promised :whistling:

You can see another Blue being tagged and released about 250-300lb on the Fishing Club Website www.rawaibeachfishingclub.com

This was during a small 6 boat tournament last month.

Always good to hear.

The boat is still out at the Similans so pictures are delayed but did get another report today.

Sat phone report from Gerry on board 4 Reel off the coast of Havelock, Andaman Islands at 16:00 hrs India time.

Large Yellow Fin Tuna weighing approx 90 kg (198lb) (+ 2 meters in length) landed on 80lb rig using again Pakula Lumo Sproket.

Two yellow fins were hooked up but only the one landed. A very jubilant fisherman and a little tir...ed after the 45 min fight.

That should also be a good photo

Hi Guys,

Got some pictures back from 4Reel out at the Andamans the Yellowfin is there as well as a nice Sail I am afraid that I will have to wait until the boat returns to post the Blue Marlin as its on the Skippers Camera. I did promise so this should keep you going just now.

Plenty Sushi on that one.
