Quality Of Xmas Dinners ?

i have some good ones and plenty of lousy xmas dinners whilst in thailand

generally speaking expat run eateries are pretty good as they get their buddies to bring over the raw ingreidents just before the big day and serve say 30 -50 meals,

including brussels sprouts and xmas pudding and mince pies.

Potatoes are locally bought and not too bad.

but some thai served up dinners were absolutely appalling they had no idea what to serve up.

all sorts of crazy concoctions arrived at the table and they werent cheap either.

the menu outside sounded pretty good but the reality was very different.

I can recommend a small restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 1 in BKK. It is called 'La Buca' and it is run by an italian old guy (Oresto or Oreste or something like that).

Not only good for christmas - the food is in my opinion the best italian food in BKK - but I noticed that they have a nice xmas menu and new years menu (but can't remember what was on it).

The place is small (maybe 10-15 tables) so you may want to make a reservation if you are going there for xmas or new year.
